This column is a quick-hitter article to give you the stats you need to make informed PGA DFS picks for your DraftKings and FanDuel daily fantasy lineups. We’re in search of a few recommendations for the fourth round of the Tournament of Champions. In a typical Showdown GPP, DraftKings will offer upwards of $50,000 to first place for second and third-round tournaments and sometimes up to $100,000 for the final-round contests. They also provide weekend-long contests that have been offering $25,000 to first place on average. FanDuel has also tried to get into the weekend-long and final-round contests, offering $10,000 and $5,000 to first place in their PGA DFS showdown contests.

Tournament of Champions Final Round PGA DFS Showdown
Previous Round Recap
There has been little to no wind this week with very receptive greens, and the winner could approach the -30 number shot by Jordan Spieth a few years ago. For now we focus on Collin Morikawa chasing down the chalkiest play in the slate, Ryan Palmer, and my perennial fade Harris English. In other words, we are looking at my biggest overweight against my two biggest underweights.
Pin positions in round 3 also were quite favorable, as both Collin Morikawa and Viktor Hovland almost holed out for albatross on 18. Justin Thomas is the top-priced golfer on the leaderboard but failed to birdie 18, and with both Palmer and English playing well, Thomas sits 5 back heading into Sunday. He’ll need something special on Sunday to win his second straight Tournament of Champions.

General Strategy and Tournament of Champions PGA DFS Picks
Reminder, it’s the final round, so positional points play a factor in it. Those who have maintained a good short game this week have really taken advantage of the soft conditions. Three golfers are doing it better than the rest, but Collin Morikawa looks the best with his irons, and maybe that will end up pushing him over the edge tomorrow.
Top 10 Analysis
The same thing I said last night: It’s going to be hard for me to pass up on Morikawa heading into the final round. But, with 16 golfers currently tied for a top-10 spot, we should be able to find a few under-owned golfers. One of those guys will likely be Brendon Todd, as gamers choose Billy Horschel and Sergio Garcia over him. Todd is more expensive than the other two and relies on his putter way more, so I suspect gamers will shy away from that and head to the more perceived value in Garcia and Horschel. Also, Sungjae Im has hung around and could be dangerous tomorrow, as his irons look superb through three rounds. Also, he shouldn’t be that highly owned heading into the final-round slate.
Other PGA DFS Picks
- Patrick Cantlay ($8,700) — A couple of bogeys early in his round cost Cantlay a chance to get to that 20-under number, but a good bounce back in the round gives him a chance at his second straight top-five here at Kapalua. To win he’ll need something really low, something like 9 or 10 under.
- Cameron Smith ($7,400) — Starting the week off a thousand dollars more expensive than this, and rather chalky, Smith hadn’t played well until today. However, he still sits outside of the top 10, which should keep ownership down a bit.
- Sebastian Munoz ($6,700) — An awful round 1, one of the few over-par rounds of the week, set him way too far back to win the tournament. But he’s played the last two rounds at 12 under par and has only made one bogey.
PGA DFS Lineup Fill-Ins
Bryson DeChambeau ($9,900)
Viktor Hovland ($9,100)
Cameron Champ ($7,100)
