NBA DFS Notebook Today February 27
Pistons-Hornets: Unfortunately for Detroit, Jalen Duren and Jaden Ivey are both out. To make matters worse, Bojan Bogdanovic and Isaiah Stewart are questionable. In turn, James Wiseman, Alec Burks and Killian Hayes are top values. If Bogdanovic ends up going, he’s a strong play. Moreover, Hamidou Diallo offers value as well. Marvin Bagley looks interesting if Stewart is out.
For the Hornets, LaMelo Ball is one of the best pay-up options. Terry Rozier, Mark Williams and Gordon Hayward are secondary plays. Nick Richards is an interesting contrarian tournament play in lineups that don’t have Williams.
Heat-76ers: Nothing stands out from Miami. Tyler Herro, Jimmy Butler, Kevin Love and Bam Adebayo all have upside but are difficult to fit into lineups. For Philadelphia, Joel Embiid and James Harden are priorities. Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey are secondary plays.

Celtics-Knicks: Jaylen Brown is out for Boston. Jayson Tatum is truly a priority without Brown. Derrick White looks very good, but there is probably a bigger ownership gap between him and Marcus Smart than there should be on DraftKings. Robert Williams and Malcolm Brogdon are secondary tournament plays. Julius Randle is the top play from New York, Jalen Brunson the second-best play. Mitchell Robinson is interested at low ownership in tournaments.
Magic-Pelicans: There are no priorities from Orlando but a lot of viable secondary plays. Markelle Fultz, Paolo Banchero and Wendell Carter look the best. Bol Bol has some cheap upside without Jonathan Isaac.
On the flip side, no Larry Nance for the Pelicans means more secure minutes for Jonas Valanciunas. Valanciunas is currently projected for 15% ownership on DraftKings, which seems too low. Guillermo Hernangomez is likely to be the backup center, which would make him a strong value. Brandon Ingram pulling the most ownership from New Orleans on DraftKings and is a strong play with Zion Williamson still sidelined. C.J. McCollum and Josh Richardson are secondary plays.
