NBA Daily Fantasy Projections & DFS Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel 1/30

On tap for Sunday night is a five-game slate that presents one team that will provide most of the value. NBA fantasy lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel will be flush with high-level talent and value plays. The Awesemo NBA Starting Lineups page will provide breaking news when starters are announced as well as a full injury report on players who might be missing in action. Below are some NBA daily fantasy options that stand out for tonight’s slate using Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool and NBA DFS projections.

Boom/Bust NBA Daily Fantasy Projections & Picks

Boom: Tre Jones: $3,000 DraftKings/$4,100 FanDuel

74.8% DraftKings Boom/48.6% FanDuel Boom

The Spurs will be the main source of value on this five-game slate. They will be without Dejounte Murray, Derrick White, and Jakob Poeltl. There are two Spurs value options that are really popping in our boom/bust probability tool. That would be Tre Jones and Drew Eubanks. Jones has the highest boom percentage on DraftKings and second-highest on FanDuel, while Eubanks has the highest boom percentage on FanDuel, and second-highest on DraftKings. Prioritize Jones tonight as Awesemo projects him to play 30.1 minutes compared to Eubanks and his 24.1 minutes.

Tre Jones certainly will not be a secret tonight with these Spurs injuries. Our ownership projections have Jones as the highest-owned player on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The matchup against the best team in the league the Phoenix Suns isn’t that ideal, but being priced at the stone minimum is impossible to ignore. This game environment should be fast-paced as the Suns and Spurs both rank in the top seven of pace this season. This is the highest total on the slate at 228.5 points. The matchup is brutal, they are heavy underdogs, but the value is incredible. Prioritize Jones over the rest.

Boom: Maxi Kleber: $3,700 DraftKings/$4,200 FanDuel

55.2% DraftKings Boom/43.4% FanDuel Boom

The Spurs have five of the top six highest boom percentage rankings on DraftKings. The one non-Spurs outlier is Mavericks forward Maxi Kleber. He is coming in as the third-highest boom percentage and third-highest projected value on both DraftKings and FanDuel tonight. Over the last three games, the Mavericks have yet to play in a close contest. The average point differential has been 28.3 points per game. Despite the Magic having the worst record in the league, the spread is only 5.5 points tonight in favor of the Mavericks. Hopefully they can finally play a close game again!

The Mavericks will be playing without Kristaps Porzingis. In the 12 games Kleber has played without Porzingis in the lineup this season, he has averaged 8.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. During that time he has also averaged 27.7 minutes and 23.3 DraftKings points per game. Kleber is coming off of his second double-double of the season where he had 15 points and 14 rebounds against the Pacers. This matchup is more difficult as the Magic have been solid against opposing big men. They still rank 22nd in defensive rating and Awesemo projects Kleber to play 33.0 minutes tonight.

Boom: Nikola Jokic: $12,400 DraftKings/$11,500 FanDuel

With value at every position on this slate, there is so much salary left to pay up for a few studs. Nikola Jokic is not only the highest priced player on both DraftKings and FanDuel, but he has the highest ceiling on the slate. Over the last eight games, Jokic is averaging a triple-double with 29.3 points, 13.1 rebounds, and 10.5 assists. During that time he is also averaging 68.4 DraftKings points per game, while recording a career-high 93-point DraftKings game against the Clippers a little over a week ago. No one on this slate or in the league can match the upside Jokic provides.

This matchup against the Bucks can certainly provide some challenges. They rank eighth in defensive rating this season and have only allowed 42.4 points per game in the paint which ranks fifth in the league. The Bucks are also in the top ten in rebounding percentage. Good thing Jokic is matchup-proof. Jokic leads the Nuggets in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks while he is averaging a career-high 1.82 DraftKings points per minute. With no Jamal Murray or Michael Porter Jr., Jokic has also had a career-high 31.4% usage rate per game. There is too much value not to get to Jokic tonight.

Bust: Devin Booker: $9,800 DraftKings/$9,400 FanDuel

59.0% DraftKings Bust/60.6% FanDuel Bust

The price tag has risen quite a bit on Devin Booker over the past week, but it has been deserved. He has found a new aggressiveness lately that has provided him with a higher ceiling. Over the last six games, Booker has attempted 28.3 field goals per game. During that time he has averaged 32.0 points and 52.7 DraftKings points per game. If you include a “bring-back” with all of the Spurs value, Booker is the guy. However, with the price tag rising and the Suns being a massive 13.5 home favorite, there is risk going to Booker. There are studs to pay up for and Booker is not in that group.

The Suns are also slowly starting to get healthy again. Deandre Ayton, Jae Crowder, and JaVale McGee are all questionable to play tonight. They have all missed several games in a row. This is a situation where monitoring the starting lineup and news will be extremely important. Sunday’s are always wild in the NBA with players randomly sitting out games. Veteran Chris Paul could even sit tonight with the Suns as heavy favorites. This is the team with the most news. Booker could be a fantastic play if everyone sits, or a great fade if most of the Suns players are back in the lineup.
