NHL DFS Picks & Top Stacks for Stanley Cup Playoffs | April 18

Top Stacks

New Jersey Devils Line 2: Jesper Bratt, Jack Hughes, Ondrej Palat

The Devils second line has great five-on-five numbers and a favorable matchup against the New York Rangers top line, which allows nearly three expected goals against per 60 minutes at five-on-five. Hughes and Bratt are also on the Devils’ top power play unit, adding to their upside.

Winnipeg Jets Line 2: Nikolaj Ehlers, Vladislav Namestnikov, Blake Wheeler

The Jets second line has great even-strength numbers for the season, averaging over 4.0 expected goals per 60 minutes, and it should get matched up against a struggling Vegas Golden Knights defense. Ehlers has also recently been moved to the top power play unit, making for a great one-off play in GPPs.

Defensemen

Shea Theodore, Vegas Golden Knights

Theodore has dealt with injuries this year but has shown his upside when healthy. He is projected to play over 20 minutes tonight and has just under 6% ownership projected. While he is on the Knights second power play, they are splitting up their power play units, so Theodore could still see some opportunities there. He has also been generating 14.4 individual Corsi-for per 60 minutes at all strengths, making the shots bonus well within reach.

Justin Schultz, Seattle Kraken

Schultz is currently the top value defenseman in Stokastic’s NHL DFS projections and is projected to flirt with 20 minutes tonight. He is also the top power play quarterback for the Kraken, adding to his value.

Goalie

Igor Shesterkin, New York Rangers

Shesterkin is one of the top goalies in the league and is expected to face a lot of shots on the road against a strong Devils team that should carry play at five-on-five. While Devils forwards look great in GPPs, Shesterkin is a great one-off play in a batch of lineups, as he could see a ton of shot volume. Stokastic’s NHL DFS projections have Shesterkin at just under 29 saves for tonight, which is a great indication of his potential. He is also a great boom-or-bust option in tournaments.
