Looking for a way to learn PGA DFS without jumping in with both feet? Then I have a perfect solution for you. This year Yahoo and Yahoo Fantasy is offering a $10,000 Freeroll called the “Yahoo Cup.” This contest awards a winner for weekly events and one winner at the end of the season who has the most cumulative points. That winner will receive $1,000. While we may have missed four weeks of competition, not to worry; as part of the Yahoo Cup rules, you get to drop your lowest eight scores. That will come in handy as we start our track to become the Yahoo Cup Champion.
Given the fact that we are starting a tad behind the rest of the bunch, there are two schools of thought on how to make up those differences. Of course, ultimately it comes down to picking the right golfers. So first I’ll start off with some general slate strategy, my top three value plays based on the Yahoo pricing, a couple of lineup fill-ins, and then I will finish it off with two different lineup variations of how to start your building your lines this week.

General Slate Strategy for the Yahoo Cup
The best of the best of have assembled in the land of the stars. Utilizing the best pricing values on the slate, we should be able to get at least two or three of these players in our lineups. Let’s see how we do it.
Top Three Values for the Genesis Invitational
Will Zalatoris ($33)
One of Zalatoris’ worst finishes on tour still ended up in a made cut, even though for him I’m sure it felt like a missed cut. His salary, below the likes of Sergio Garcia and Abraham Ancer, gives us tremendous value in the middle of our lineup. Stick him in with these next two golfers, and you’ll be able to roster just about any combo of three guys you’d like.
Cameron Davis ($24)
Davis has finally found a grove on the PGA Tour. The last few years, he sadly was the victim of the cut line more often than not, many times when he didn’t need to be. Now, though, he’s found his stride, making the first four cuts of the calendar year and providing great returns compared to his pricing on Yahoo.
Wyndham Clark ($20)
After making three straight cuts to start the season, Clark decided to opt out of last week’s AT&T Pebble Beach pro-am and instead head down to Los Angeles a week early. Still, this min-salary golfer provides a ton of upside, and because of so many popular names with salaries at the min — like Doug Ghim, Keegan Bradley and Jim Furyk — I don’t expect Clark to be rostered a ton.

PGA DFS Yahoo Cup Lineup Builds
Aggressive Build
Coming off of his best finish as a PGA Tour Pro, McNealy will certainly be popular this week at this pricing. So if his popularity scares you, look instead to Ghim. Rostering these three golfers below allows you to get just about any two studs you’d like, plus Patrick Cantlay.
Conservative Build
To take a bit more conservative approach, going with Clark, Davis and Zalatoris still allows you to build out a fairly aggressive line, just not with three of the top studs. At $41, though, you can still roster Cantlay, Spieth and whoever else you want, including Dustin Johnson. I like this type of build for all formats, including head-to-heads and GPPs.
