College Football Week 6 DFS Picks & Night Slate Preview: Fade Caleb Williams vs. Washington State? (October 8)

Saturday’s college football fun doesn’t stop with the main slate, and a nine-game night slate ends the DFS college football night on DraftKings, with plenty of big names available, including Caleb Williams and Chris Rodriguez Jr.

Washington State heads to USC for a matchup with the Trojans. Kentucky hosts South Carolina without the services of quarterback Will Levis. Resurgent Kansas State travels to Ames, Iowa for a huge Big 12 battle with the Cyclones. Wake Forest plays host to a throwback Army squad. Clemson hits the road to Newton, Mass. for a matchup with Boston College. Notre Dame and BYU meet in Las Vegas for the newest installation of the Shamrock Series.

Those are just the six games that start at 7:30 p.m. ET, with three more contests kicking off at 8:00 p.m. ET or later. Arizona hosts Oregon with major Pac-12 implications on the line. Florida State heads to Raleigh for an ACC battle with North Carolina State. Lastly, but certainly not least, Alabama tries to exact revenge on Texas A&M as the Crimson Tide hosts the Aggies, possibly without the services of Bryce Young.

With nine games in play and a few teams still playing against inferior competition, there are plenty of strong CBB DFS picks at all positions and some potentially lopsided scores across the board. This article will provide NCAAF DFS picks and lineup advice for the DraftKings slate on October 8 that locks at 7:30 p.m. ET.

College Football DFS: Week 6 Saturday Night CFB Picks

Quarterback

Caleb Williams, USC ($10,200) — Our top projected player for the entire day, Williams has arguably the best floor/ceiling combination of anyone in the nation when USC meets Washington State. One of the most dynamic players in college football, Williams is averaging 28.3 DraftKings points per game with at least 30 in three of USC’s first five contests. Aside from a subpar performance against Oregon State in Week 4, Williams has been as good or better than any other quarterback in the country so far this season. Even at his expensive $10.2K price tag, he’s a true fade-at-your-own-risk in both cash games and tournaments.

Other Quarterbacks: Sam Hartman, Wake Forest ($9,300); Bo Nix, Oregon ($8,900); DJ Uiagalelei, Clemson ($7,600); Jayden de Laura, Arizona ($6,700); Deuce Hogan, Kentucky ($5,800); Drew Pyne, Notre Dame ($5,300)

Running Backs

Chris Rodriguez Jr. Kentucky ($7,000) — Perhaps the top overall play on the slate, Rodriguez looks like a lock in all formats at $7,000. One of the top running backs in the country, Rodriguez returned to the Wildcats last week after missing all of September for disciplinary reasons stemming from an offseason incident. Despite losing to Mississippi State, Rodriguez looked good in his return, rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown while also pulling in three balls for 40 yards through the air. Without the services of future NFL signal-caller Will Levis, expect Kentucky to lean on Rodriguez even more this week, and facing a South Carolina defense that gave up 200 or more rushing yards in each of their first three games, we can’t lock him in fast enough. Plug him in and move along.

Will Shipley, Clemson ($6,900) — Another really solid play in all formats, Shipley is the priority piece from a Clemson offense that’s in a good spot against Boston College on Saturday night. Averaging 21.3 DraftKings points through Clemson’s first five games, Shipley took a step back last week as quarterback DJ Uiagalelei led the way in the Tigers’ 30-20 win over North Carolina State. The Wolfpack’s defense is much stingier than the Eagles’, however, and look for Clemson to get back to its running ways as an almost-three touchdown favorite on the road. With double-digit touches in every game so far this season, the monster game is coming for Shipley sooner rather than later.

Other Running Backs: Jahmyr Gibbs, Alabama ($7,600); Deuce Vaughn, Kansas State ($7,300); Travis Dye, USC ($7,100); Jirehl Brock, Iowa State ($6,200); Devon Achane, Texas A&M ($6,000); Justice Ellison, Wake Forest ($5,900); Audric Estime, Notre Dame ($5,500); Michael Wiley, Arizona ($5,300); Chris Tyree, Notre Dame ($5,200); Nakia Watson, Washington State ($4,700)

Wide Receivers

Zay Flowers, Boston College ($5,700) — Averaging 24.6k DraftKings points per game, Flowers continues to be one of the best wide receivers in college football. With Boston College expected to throw the ball a ton against Clemson, there’s a lot to like about him at in all formats on Saturday night. Flowers has a ceiling unmatched by anyone else at this price point, with a double-digit floor to boot. Using players against Clemson is a bit of a risky proposition, but Flowers is just way too cheap at $5.7K and he looks like one of the top value plays on Saturday – for any slate.

Dorian Singer, Arizona ($5,000) — Wide receiver is loaded tonight, with really strong options at basically every price point. Singer looks to be falling a bit under the radar, however, and at $5,000 he’s got real, slate-breaking upside. With both Oregon and Arizona having extremely potent offenses, we definitely want exposure to this game and price considered, Singer looks like top piece of the Wildcats offense. Averaging 17.6 DraftKings points per game, Singer has been phenomenal recently with 21.3 and 34.3 points in Arizona’s last two contests. 17 catches for 266 yards and a touchdown during that time frame, Singer has established a really nice rapport with quarterback Jayden de Laura. While the masses flock to a $7.8K Jacob Cowing (still a strong play), we will take the $2,800 savings and lock in Singer.

Other Wide Receivers: Jordan Addison, USC ($9,400); Xavier Hutchinson, Iowa State ($8,500); Jacob Cowing, Arizona ($7,800); Ja’Corey Brooks, Alabama ($6,400); Michael Mayer, Notre Dame ($5,600); Troy Franklin, Oregon ($5,100); Lorenzo Styles, Notre Dame ($5,000); Donovan Ollie, Washington State ($4,000); Robert Ferrel, Washington State ($3,500); Antonio Williams, Clemson ($3,500)
