Top 5 FanDuel NBA DFS Picks Today

5. R.J. Barrett, New York Knicks

Barrett is shooting guard/small forward eligible with a projected score of 36. He is in the optimal line of 27% of the time. Today the Knicks, including Barrett, will have a fantastic day, as they will be facing the Lakers in a huge pace-up spot. The Lakers defense is middle of the pack, even with Anthony Davis around. Barrett is expected to play 37 minutes with a 0.95 fantasy points per minute, 26% usage, 23.5 points, 6.5 boards, three assists and maybe a stock. The positionality, price, playing time and matchup all work well for Barrett.

4. Zach LaVine, Chicago Bulls

LaVine is a shooting guard and small forward with a $7,200 salary, placing him in the optimal lineup 29% of the time. He is playing 37 minutes with 1.05 fantasy points per minute, a 28% usage rate, 25 points, five boards, four assists and possibly a stock. Both LaVine and Barrett offer position flexibility and are playing large minutes.

2. Jalen Brunson, New York Knicks

Brunson is a point guard or shooting guard at $7,500 and projecting for 42 fantasy points. He’s in the optimal lineup 32% of the time and has 37 minutes of playing time in the game against the Lakers. The game is a pace-up spot, and the Knicks are expected to gain two possessions over their average. Brunson projects for 1.1 fantasy points per minute, 26.6 points, four rebounds and a steal.

2. Quentin Grimes, New York Knicks

Grimes is projected to score 24 points, and he is in the optimal lineup 35% of the time. He has crossed the 25-point mark in two out of the last 10 games. On this five-game slate, 35 minutes of playing time is expected for Grimes in a pace-up spot against the Lakers. For a salary of $4,100, a 12-point, 4.5-rebound, 2.5-assist game is expected, but a 25-point fantasy score is not unreasonable in 35 minutes. He may be a good option on FanDuel, considering the lack of pay-down options.

1. LaMelo Ball, Charlotte Hornets

Ball is currently the top contender for Tuesday’s NBA DFS on FanDuel. He is a point guard with an $8,000 salary and a projection of 45. With an optimal lineup rate of 36%, he has a huge ceiling. Ball averages 1.25 fantasy points per minute, with a usage rate of 30% and a stat line of 25 points, seven assists and 6.5 rebounds per game. Although the Charlotte Hornets are 12-point underdogs in their game against the Milwaukee Bucks, Ball should still perform well.

The Hornets are not expected to win this game, but if they keep it competitive, Ball will be a large reason for it. At $8,000, Ball is a great option for DFS players looking for a player with a high ceiling and well-rounded stats.
