NBA DFS Boom: Pascal Siakam: $10,500 DraftKings/$10,400 FanDuel

Losing back-to-back games against the Magic by double digits was surprising to see from the Raptors. Those losses dropped their record below .500 for the second time all season. They will get a chance to bounce back as 5-point home favorites against the Kings tonight. The Kings are playing the second leg of a back-to-back after getting boat-raced last night by 20 points against the 76ers. The Raptors can easily have a similar outcome tonight. Despite Toronto’s negative record, Pascal Siakam has played like one of the best players in the league and is one of the top pay-up options on this slate.

Siakam’s salary at well over $10,000 on both DraftKings and FanDuel may induce sticker shock, but he deserves it. This season, Siakam has averaged a career high in points, rebounds and assists, and he consistently flirts with triple-doubles. He has the fourth-highest boom percentage on DraftKings while also being one of the highest-priced players in boom percentage on DraftKings. The Kings rank 25th in points allowed in the paint this season with 52.6 per game, so Siakam should get any shot that he wants in this spot. He will also greatly benefit with no O.G. Anunoby on the floor.

NBA DFS Boom: Kelly Oubre Jr.: $7,400 DraftKings/$7,800 FanDuel

It has been a tough start to the year for the Hornets, who have a 7-20 record after losing five straight games. Injuries continue to be the issue, as they are playing without LaMelo Ball, Gordon Hayward, Dennis Smith Jr. and Cody Martin. With so many players out, Kelly Oubre Jr. has seen his usage rate skyrocket to 26.4% and he has scored 20 or more points in eight straight games. Oubre is the only player on the slate who ranks in the top five of boom percentage on both DraftKings and FanDuel tonight. Not only has his production increased, but this is a great matchup for Oubre to stay unleashed.

The Pistons rank 29th in defensive rating and 20th in rebounding percentage and are allowing 117 points per game. Plus, they are only team with a worse record in the league than the Hornets. Detroit just ruled Cade Cunningham out for the year, so it does not have much to play for this season other than tanking to get a shot at one of the best prospects ever. Oubre has an A grade on both sites, but an A value on FanDuel and a B value on DraftKings in Stokastic’s NBA DFS Rankings. He looks awesome on both sites, as this matchup has sneaky shootout potential given its 227.5 game total.

NBA DFS Boom: Bogdan Bogdanovic: $5,000 DraftKings/$6,000 FanDuel

50.0% DraftKings Boom/19.4% FanDuel Boom

After missing last game due to rest, Bogdan Bogdanovic is rating as by far the best value player on DraftKings at $5,000. He has the highest boom percentage at 50%, and he is $1,000 cheaper than he is on FanDuel. Over his last two games, Bogdanovic has scored 31 and 28 points, and his field goal attempts have increased in all five games that he has played this season. With no Dejounte Murray and John Collins, Bogdanovic looks fantastic. However, if Trae Young is unable to play, Bogdanovic is going to look even better and would also be a priority on FanDuel.

The Magic rank 26th in defensive rating this season, and the Hawks are 2.5-point road favorites implied for 114 points. The Hawks have struggled as of late, losing four of their last five games, while the Magic have surprised some opponents and won three straight. This is still a spot where Bogdanovic can let it fly and have his way with the Magic defense. He should be well rested after missing last game, so expect his minute to continue to rise. Stokastic’s projections have Bogdanovic playing 31.1 minutes, and he has the highest value on the slate for DraftKings tonight.

NBA DFS Bust: Luka Doncic: $12,600 DraftKings/$12,500 FanDuel

44.0% DraftKings Bust/50.9% FanDuel Bust

Fading the highest-priced player on the slate is extremely risky, especially when his name is Luka Doncic. However, it is surprising that, even in a very difficult matchup against the Cavaliers, there is no discount on Doncic. He is still $12,600 on DraftKings and $12,500 on FanDuel, and this game has the lowest total on the slate at 216.5 points. The Mavericks are 2-point favorites and are 11-4 at home this season. Doncic has scored 58 or more DraftKings points in seven straight games, but his bust percentage is quite high in this spot against a tough defense.

The Cavaliers rank second in defensive rating this season and allow a league-best 105.1 points per game. These two teams also rank last and second-to-last in pace, so it shouldn’t be surprising this total is so low. Doncic still has a very high ceiling and does have the highest fantasy score in Stokastic’s projections, but he also has by far the worst value among the pay-up options. On a slate where there are so many good high-priced studs, it is tough to prioritize Doncic tonight. He may end up scoring the most fantasy points on the slate while still not being anywhere close to the optimal lineup.
