NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates
Andre Drummond vs. Hawks: $9,200/$10,000
39.6% DraftKings Boom/41.7% FanDuel Boom
While it only looks like an average matchup on paper, the Hawks have not faced a center like Andre Drummond this season. Drummond’s lowest rebounding total thus far has been 13, and that was in only 25 minutes of action. Today, Awesemo has the Cavs big man projected for 32.5 minutes of action, putting him in the position to be one of the better high-end “boom” NBA DFS picks. He has scored over 55 fantasy points in three of his five games this season. Given the projected minutes and his high usage, there’s no reason for him to be under $10k.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander vs. Magic: $7,900/$8,200
35.1% DraftKings Boom/42.8% FanDuel Boom
The Thunder have suffered back-to-back blowout losses. As a result, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has put up more of floor than ceiling games. He has attempted only 10 shots in each of the games, which is half of what he put up in the two games prior. While the Thunder are 7.5-point underdogs against the Magic currently, Orlando plays with a style that limits their chances of fully playing someone off the court. However, they are still playing with the sixth-fastest pace in the league. It will likely be a competitive game throughout, so expect SGA to attempt more shots, get back to his 30% usage rate and put up a solid DFS performance for his price.
Aaron Gordon vs. Thunder: $5,600/$6,400
24.6% DraftKings Boom/19.6% FanDuel Boom
It has been a tough start to the season for Aaron Gordon, who continues to battle his way back from injury. However, as his price continues to fall on both DraftKings and FanDuel, this could be a bit of a buy-low spot, in terms of NBA DFS. Gordon has seen his minutes limited, mid-to-low 20’s for most games. However, he did play 30 minutes on Dec. 26, proving he is capable. The rest of the games were either in a back-to-back or three games in four days spot, before last game’s blowout. Since he did play just 21 minutes last time out, he should be rested, and we could see another 30-minute game versus the Thunder, which isn’t a matchup that scares you.
NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates
Terry Rozier vs. 76ers: $7,000/$7,100
79.1% DraftKings Bust/72.8% FanDuel Bust
Terry Rozier exploded in the season openers, but he has disappointed since then. Rozier has topped out at 31 minutes since that game, which limits his overall upside. The big reason for this has been the recent play of rookie LaMelo Ball, who is quickly approaching 30 minutes off the bench (29 and 27 last two games). With Charlotte being 10-point underdogs against Philadelphia, we could see plenty of the rookie tonight, which does not bode well for Rozier — and the NBA DFS projections agree.
