In NBA DFS and daily fantasy basketball as a whole, it is not as simple as rostering who we think the best play is. We have to consider the odds each individual player has of going off or busting. Nobody is a sure thing. With the Awesemo NBA DFS Boom vs. Bust Tool, we have our own odds to help us navigate range of outcomes for NBA daily fantasy. These are some of the NBA DFS picks on DraftKings and FanDuel that have the best NBA DFS projections of booming or busting according to our tool.

DraftKings + FanDuel Boom/Bust Projections | Feb. 22
NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates
Eric Gordon vs. Bulls: $6,300/$5,300
25.1% DraftKings Boom/50.3% FanDuel Boom
We have a weird situation going on in Houston. DeMarcus Cousins and the Rockets agreed to part ways but he still might play tonight. Cousins is listed as questionable to play on the injury report. If he’s out, Houston won’t have any available big man. This would mean a lot of small ball lineups which should increase the pace of play. In addition, Victor Oladipo remains out and his absence creates extra playing time and usage for Eric Gordon. This potentially puts Gordon in a very favorable spot against a weak Bulls’ defense.

LeBron James vs. Wizards: $10,400/$10,400
51.3% DraftKings Boom/53.2% FanDuel Boom
There are three strong options to pay up for on this slate between James, Damian Lillard and Luka Doncic. All three warrant consideration, but LeBron is my highest priority of the trio. The Lakers will continue to have to lean on him with Anthony Davis and Dennis Schroder out, while his price is yet to adjust for his new situation. James also draws one of the best matchups possible against the Wizards since they rank 26th in defensive efficiency and play at the fastest pace in the league.
Justise Winslow vs. Mavericks: $3,900/$3,600
21.2% DraftKings Boom/17.1% FanDuel Boom
Winslow is one of the harder plays to project today although his upside is apparent. In the Grizzlies’ last game, Winslow played for the first time in over a year. Due to numerous injuries, he hadn’t played since January of 2020. For reference, most of us weren’t even aware COVID existed the last time Winslow was on an NBA court. In his first action in a while, Winslow played 21 minutes with a 35.3% usage rate. Since he was that willing to shoot, it’s not hard to imagine a scenario where he played over 20 minutes and scores over a fantasy point per minute.
NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates
Devin Booker vs. Blazers: $8,200/$7,700
66.2% DraftKings Bust/49.6% FanDuel Bust
Booker continues to disappoint from a fantasy perspective. Playing alongside Chris Paul is significantly capping his upside this season. He has scored under 40 fantasy points in three consecutive games, and his assist numbers are way down from last season. Phoenix isn’t nearly as reliant on Booker to play well when Paul is in the mix. There’s a price point where Booker becomes a viable option again but his salary is barely changing this season.
