PrizePicks NBA Player Props | Feb. 15

Collin Sexton Under 5.0 Assists

With most books setting this line at 4.5, PrizePicks is offering a bit of extra value on the under here, and it is pushing the win expectancy up to a whopping 72%.

Sexton is only averaging 2.9 assists per game this year, but the line is getting boosted by the expectation of Sexton taking over playmaking with Mike Conley now in Minnesota. That has somewhat been the case — Sexton has either five or six assists in each of the last four games. But tonight’s opponent in Memphis is one of the three best defenses in the NBA by defensive rating. For the record, Sexton has played two games against the Grizzlies this year, one with Conley and one without, and fell shy of this line both times. He played 31 minutes in the game Conley missed and finished with four assists.

Essentially, pre-Conley trade numbers for Sexton are out the window — Conley averaged 7.7 a game for the Jazz, almost double any other Utah player. Instead, the matchup and a bit of projected regression are pushing Stokastic’s PrizePicks NBA player props tool towards the under, pegging him for 4.1 assists tonight.

Walker Kessler Under 11.0 Rebounds

This is another situation in which PrizePicks rounded up on the industry-consensus line with a Jazz player. Now, Kessler has played very well for the last couple months and has established himself as a quality starter, but 12-plus rebounds is a bit of a stretch. For one thing, he has been slumping a little on the boards of late, recording single digits in eight of the last 11. Second, for the moment Stokastic is projecting the Jazz rotation to include Lauri Markkanen. That is 8.6 projected rebounds in this game, plus the 9.7 combined expected to go to Kelly Olynyk and Udoka Azubuike.

This all could change if Markkanen is ruled out. He is currently questionable, a downgrade from his probable status earlier in the day. But if he plays, Utah will have its full rotation of bigs to cut into Kessler’s rebound total. The one thing working in Kessler’s favor is Memphis being an elite pace up, but even with that in mind, Stokastic’s PrizePicks NBA player props tool is projecting him for only 9.6 rebounds, giving the under a 70% chance of hitting.
