Stokastic’s Tom Kennedy Uses Our MLB Sims Tool to Win $50K on DraftKings | How He Made It Happen

The newest Stokastic MLB tool has claimed another contest win for one of our pros: Stokastic’s own Tom “tomjk321” Kennedy took home DraftKings’s MLB $150K Relay Throw on Saturday, bagging a cool $50,000. And Tom is here to tell you exactly what it takes to take down MLB DFS contests and improve your daily fantasy strategy.

In the above thread, Tom breaks down why contest sims are such a useful tool in DFS and how Stokastic is the leading innovator in this space with our MLB Sims Tool. Using Stokastic’s MLB Sims Tool, Tom was able to find the players with the highest ROIs based on how the contest shook out. Want to get in on the action with Stokastic’s industry-leading offering? Let’s take a look at Tom’s $50,000-winning DraftKings MLB DFS lineup strategy.

Tom’s big edge here was rolling with a fairly contrarian stack in the Tampa Bay Rays that ended up plating 18 runs on the road in Anaheim. The five-man stack combined to produce 122 fantasy points (24.4 per player), and the LOW of the five was Curtis Mead at 17. That is an insanely successful stacking play in a vacuum, made even more so by the fact that two of the pieces were owned at 1.5% or less. For the record, the third-place lineup also utilized a contrarian five-man Rays stack, but that one added Yandy Diaz at first base, whose 12-point outing lagged behind the 30 that Isaac Paredes gave Tom.

Then Tom rolled with a three-man Rockies mini stack, which was way chalkier and also put up solid numbers in an awesome Coors Field game environment. Two of the three pieces there were absolute smashes, and since Tom’s main stack was way against the grain, Colorado proved worth the chalk.

As for pitching, Tom went with the popular Yu Darvish — who was adequate in producing 10.65 fantasy points — and the slightly contrarian pay-up of Julio Urias. While others in the top 10 on DraftKings used one of those two pitchers, no one utilized that exact combination, so again Tom was able to find unique lineups thanks to Stokastic’s MLB Sims Tool.

All in all, there were pieces of Tom’s lineup that other high finishers also employed in their entries, but Tom found the tweaks to both differentiate his lineup from the field and get a scoring edge on the other players. And again, as is always the case with Stokastic pros, he made the most of his lineups last night with the help of Stokastic’s elite MLB DFS projections, ownership projections and MLB Sims Tool. These tools allowed them to differentiate between the good and bad chalk while also pinpointing the leverage points with hitters.
