We’ll start with the most obvious pick’em play on the slate. Dean Kremer was elected as the PrizePicks “Taco Tuesday”. He’ll face off against the woeful Chicago White Sox who are striking out at the seventh highest rate against RHP in August. The locker room is lost with little veteran presence stepping up and it’s shown on the field. They’ve dropped 10 of their last 15 games and Kremer should cruise today with an outs line posted at 17.5 with vig on the over.

Michael Lorenzen O/U 5.5 Hits Allowed
We’re fading Mr. No-Hitter himself? Yes. Michael Lorenzen has allowed 16 hits combined in his two starts since his no-hitter against the Washington Nationals and has failed to give the Phillies a quality outing since.
His opponent tonight in the Los Angeles Angels might as well call it quits on their postseason aspirations with their recent slide, but they got to fellow RHP Taijuan Walker last night for eight hits including three in the first inning. Lorenzen has a much lower K% than Walker and will look for plenty of groundball outs which I expect to result in hits for the Angels.

Aaron Civale O/U 5.5 Hits Allowed
Aaron Civale will be leaned upon due to the Ray’s plagued injury list. They’ve lost multiple starting pitchers but acquiring Civale at the deadline was a must. Civale was having a fantastic season for the Guardians before being moved and has not slowed down one bit. In four starts with the Rays, Civale has stayed under this line in just half of them but both being in his last two starts. He’s allowed just nine hits in 11 innings of work with 14 K’s.
The Miami Marlins are playing catchup in the NL Wild Card due in large part to their bottom 10 batting average against RHP in August. Vig is on the under on Civale’s outs at 17.5 so we’ll project Civale to go at least five here with a rested Rays bullpen and exiting at 80 pitches last start even though he was dealing.
