NFL Week 5 DraftKings Reignmakers Targets
Quarterback: Daniel Jones, New York Giants
Week 5 Projection: 17.53 DraftKings Points
Core Floor Price: $6.49
This is a difficult week to find a good buy-low quarterback. Last week, I felt great about buying Justin Fields at his floor and he bounced back nicely. For Week 5, not many players at the position project well at low prices. Oddly, the main benefit that Jones sees this weekend is that Giants are massive underdogs.
The Dolphins are blowing out lesser competition this season which could mean garbage time points for the G-Men on Sunday. Even in the game against the Denver Broncos when Miami scored 70 points, they ended up giving up 20 due to soft defense in the fourth quarter. This should set up as a game script where the Giants are forced to throw the ball.
Running Back: Joe Mixon, Cincinnati Bengals
Week 5 Projection: 17.76 DraftKings Points
Core Floor Price: $6.71
Mixon finds himself in a great matchup this weekend against the Cardinals. Not only is the matchup good on paper, Joe Burrow remains banged up and Tee Higgins is questionable to play. This should lead to the Bengals leaning more on the running game.
While he isn’t having an efficient season, Mixon is getting plenty of volume. He has at least 15 touches in every game this season and gets his easiest matchup of the year. To this point, Cincy has overall played in tough matchups for the run game by going up against the Browns, Titans, Ravens and Rams.
Wide Receiver: Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles Rams
Week 5 Projection: 13.89 DraftKings Points
Core Floor Price: $9.25
Buying Kupp cards is less about this week and more about the rest of the season. One of the most valuable fantasy players over the course of the last couple seasons, Kupp is returning this weekend after missing the first four games of the season due to a hamstring injury.
I expect him to play limited snaps this week and get ramped up to a full workload in a week or two. This gives us a buy-low window on Kupp. This is as cheap as we have seen him in Reignmakers and, as long as health cooperates, he is likely going to return to a top fantasy option in the near future.
