It was another successful Monday, as we hit two of our three featured NBA betting picks. Goran Dragic eclipsed 3.5 assists, even in a blowout loss for the Heat. Unfortunately, the nature of the blowout game saw Bobby Portis play enough minutes to go over 8.5 total points. That was our lone loss of the evening, though, as Carmelo Anthony fell short of 2.5 total rebounds and cashed a plus-money ticket in the process.

Kemba Walker Under 4.5 Assists

Game 1 of the Celtics – Nets series was a rough one for Walker. He shot just 5-for-16 from the floor and finished with 15 points and just 2 assists in 27 minutes. That assist total was identical to the pair he had in the Celtics’ play-in tournament win over the Washington Wizards. It also marked the fifth time in the last six games he’s played in which he fell short of tonight’s NBA betting line of 4.5 dimes. On the season, Walker averaged 4.9 assists per game. However, it is clear that teammates Marcus Smart and Jayson Tatum are the primary distributors in this offense at present. Although season averages are typically a worthwhile stat for predicting NBA player props, recent form strongly recommends playing the under here.

James Harden Over 1.5 Steals

His 5-for-13 shooting from the field didn’t set the world on fire by any means. That said, Harden was everywhere for the Nets in Game 1. He nearly recorded a triple-double, finishing with 21 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and four steals. It is worth taking a shot on the plus-money odds for Harden to once again exceed 1.5 thefts in Game 2.

Harden averaged 1.3 steals per contest this season and has now notched multiple thefts in two of his last three games played. He figures to benefit throughout this entire series from the fact that the Celtics coughed up an average of 14.0 turnovers per game this season. Grabbing multiple steals is easier said than done, but there’s value in the +130 odds for Harden to do so tonight.

LeBron James Over 7.5 Rebounds

How many times have we seen a James-led team lose Game 1 in a series only to come back and eventually advance? If anyone knows the difference between ben down 0-2 and tied 1-1, it’s James. Yes, there are rumors floating around with regard to his ankle injury. Even so, tonight feels like a big one for James. Bettors are advised to take advantage by playing over the NBA betting line of 7.5 total rebounds.

James had no trouble exceeding that threshold in the Lakers’ win over the Warriors in the play-in tournament. His 11 rebounds in that game were part of a triple-double line. Outside of an outlier game in the regular-season finale, James has secured at least seven boards in three of his four games played since officially returning from the injury absence. If Los Angeles is to continue its championship defense beyond this round, it starts with James stuffing the stat sheet.

Mikal Bridges Under 13.5 Points

Bridges plays many vital roles for the Suns at both ends of the floor. However, with this being the NBA playoffs, it makes sense for his scoring output to take a back seat in favor of defensive intensity. Such was precisely the case in Game 1. Bridges finished with just 10 points, well below his season average and tonight’s NBA betting line of 13.5. Bettors should look to follow this trend and play under on his total points.

Nicolas Batum Over 1.5 Assists

Batum is vastly underrated as a passer even out of the post. If the Clippers are going to get back on track and even up this series with the Mavericks, ball movement is going to be critical. He had a pair in the Game 1 loss while playing 32 minutes. The plus-money odds to bet on a repeat performance that would merely be on par with his season average scream value.
