Bet Phillies at Pirates Over 9 Runs: Expert MLB Betting Picks, Odds & Predictions | Friday, 7/30/21

Friday’s loaded MLB schedule leaves no shortage of action on the diamond. There are a few profitable spots for MLB betting today, and I have outlined some of the MLB Vegas odds and free expert MLB picks and prop bets for today, July 30.

Expert MLB Picks, Predictions & Vegas Odds

Philadelphia Phillies at Pittsburgh Pirates – Over 9 (-109, SugarHouse)

The Phillies come into Pittsburgh after yesterday’s dramatic win over the Nationals, with all 11 runs coming in the final six innings. That offensive surge will continue, and the total is over nine runs.

The Phillies take aim at Pirates right-hander Wil Crowe, who has a 5.89 ERA and 1.57 WHIP. Philadelphia might want to use more right-handed bats tonight considering Crowe is allowing a .322 average to righties, compared to .223 against lefties. One of the real caveats here is Phillies right-hander Vince Velasquez. There may not be a more inconsistent pitcher in all of baseball, considering he has allowed at least five runs in three of his last four starts — the exception over that stretch was a five-inning shutout.

Baltimore Orioles at Detroit Tigers – Under 9.5 (-103, SugarHouse)

It looks like Matt Harvey found himself after the All-Star break, allowing four hits, one walk and no runs in 12 innings of work. Harvey is a name that has come up in trade discussions, but it seems unlikely that he will be dealt before today’s deadline. Although Baltimore has been successful against left-handed pitching this season, Tarik Skubal looks good in tonight’s matchup. Skubal has some electric stuff that can baffle an undisciplined team like the Orioles.

Milwaukee Brewers at Atlanta Braves – Under 8.5

Corbin Burnes has masterful numbers this season, going 6-4 with a 2.12 ERA and 0.90 WHIP. If that were not enough, he also has a whopping 146 strikeouts in 102 innings. Of course, Atlanta’s offense takes a bit of a hit with Ronald Acuna Jr. out of the lineup. In recent games, there have been a lot of one- and two-run outputs from its bats.

Not to be outmatched, Touki Toussaint is off to a fast start this season. In two starts (13.2 innings), he has only allowed eight hits, two walks and two runs while striking out 15 hitters. Milwaukee just beat up Pittsburgh pitching the last few days, so tonight’s matchup will certainly be a step up in class.
