2022 World Cup Bets: Group B Qualifier, USMNT vs. Wales

The 2022 World Cup begins Sunday, Nov. 20. There are a few future props that stand out with value, with the hold in a short span, much like a Grand Slam tennis tournament or NCAA March Madness, so any plus-money plays are worth a stab. Here is one to lock in.
2022 World Cup Odds: Group B Odds
Group B has a nation that always offers promise: England. Iran is the lone underdog of the group, and the fight for second, according to the odds, is between the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) and Wales. Wales comes in as the more battle-tested side, but USMNT stands as -105 to advance versus the +100 of Wales.
Wales has been highlighted for years by Gareth Bale with Brennan Johnson getting much-needed high-level competition with Nottingham Forest in the EPL. The USMNT has a number of players also competing at the EPL level, including Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson, who have played consistent roles for Leeds United.
The assumption is England will take the top seed and Iran will exit early. England has a history of underperforming on the big stage. It had success in the Euro competition last summer, but the defenders in line all have had questionable seasons leading to the big event. This is not to write off a talent-filled side led by Harry Kane and an arsenal of wing backs who at least do their job on the offensive end. USMNT and Wales can compete with England, and the side that comes away with a draw or better against it will have a big advantage. The key to this match comes down to the head to head, and the even-money payout is a solid bet on either side, considering a straight bet on the individual match runs the risk of a draw. The side to back here is USMNT.
Christian Pulisic has had little success making his way into the starting eleven of Chelsea, but his form for USMNT has done more than prove he is ready for the big stage. Giovanni Reyna has the competition level in the Bundesliga to jell with the midfielders mentioned above. The question for USMNT is its defense, and it is an issue. It will call on upon goalkeeper Matt Turner to make saves throughout the tournament, and he thrives in the big moments, having led it to two championships on their run to qualification.
Wales snuck into the World Cup via a qualification game against Ukraine, and the projected starters have found little success with two wins in their previous nine competitive matches. Its offense has been nonexistent, and the once strong defense has kept just one clean sheet. USMNT has just one loss in its last nine competitive matches with multiple three-plus-goal outings.
