No House Advantage Fantasy Baseball: MLB Picks Tonight

Shohei Ohtani Over 0.5 RBIs

Playing the under here would be hoping to capitalize on Ohtani’s mild run-producing slump; he has gone four games without driving in a run and has a couple hitless games in there as well. However, Ohtani has been one of baseball’s best power bats all season, ranking fourth in RBIs while having fewer at-bats than all three hitters ahead of him in that category. As such, positive regression is a reasonable expectation today. The matchup against a gas can in Bailey Ober helps matters, as Ober is allowing a .530 slugging percentage and 43.1% hard-hit rate on the year. And while Ohtani has mashed pitchers of both handedness all season, his on-base percentage climbs 46 points against righties. Ober on the mound would have made an Ohtani home run prop of 0.5 a reasonable play, so the RBI line is an instant click.

Lance Lynn Over 5.5 Strikeouts

Lynn’s strikeout numbers this year are comfortably ahead of his career averages, and today’s matchup works even further to his favor since the Brewers have struck out the third most this season. They also project to put out a right-handed lineup tonight, and Lynn’s strikeout splits strongly favor righty matchups. Lynn has hit the over on this line in 12 of 17 starts this year and in seven of his last nine. And though this game’s Vegas total is 7.5, with Brandon Woodruff going for Milwaukee this game has serious pitcher’s duel potential, which may push Lynn into the later innings. Given the dearth of main-slate pitching options, this appears to be the most likely strikeout prop to go over on No House Advantage today.

Jonathan Schoop Over 2.5 Hits + RBIs + Runs

No House Advantage has done a good job limiting exposure to the Tigers today; otherwise everyone would be flocking to take overs on as many Detroit hitters as they could get their hands on. But since they have restricted it to just two options — Schoop and Jeimer Candelario — the choice has to be Schoop working with the split and the slightly better track record. The Royals are trotting out shaky lefty Daniel Lynch, who has an ERA pushing 16.00 and a WHIP of almost 3.00 in his three starts this season. Schoop, meanwhile, sees his OPS jump over 200 points against lefties in a large enough sample size this year for it to be statistically significant. He has hit the over on this line in four of his last seven games, and the Vegas total of 10 means they are projecting a slugfest today. Candelario can also work for the same prop, but the platoon advantage works more heavily in Schoop’s favor.
