Josiah Gray and Bryce Harper

Gray will be taking the mound for his third career MLB appearance, but this will be his second start. He has had struggles, only going four innings in each of those appearances. Even with that, Gray has managed to fan six and seven hitters in the two outings. This will probably come down to Gray’s opponent, as Philadelphia ranks around league average in strikeout rate (23.6%) against right-handed pitching. That said, Philadelphia has been much better over the last 14 days, striking out at the fifth-lowest rate (20.6%).

Pick: Gray Under 5.5 Strikeouts

Harper is coming off a nice Sunday, in which he hit three doubles. This matchup against Gray and the Nationals bullpen is a good one, as the bullpen has the second-worst ERA (5.68) in all of baseball. Plus, Gray has been hit hard in his short time in the majors.

Pick: Harper Over 1.5 Hits + Walks

Taylor Widener, Anthony DeSclafani, LaMonte Wade Jr., Mike Yastrzemski, Brandon Crawford

Widener has allowed 13 hits, 10 runs and three home runs over his last 8.1 innings of work. It has been especially rough at home for him, as he has a 7.45 ERA in Arizona.

Pick: Widener, Under 5.5 Strikeouts

DeSclafani had a rough outing last time out, but that was against the Dodgers. This is a much better matchup against the Diamondbacks, who he has dominated all season. DeSclafani is 2-0 with a 1.98 ERA in two starts.

Pick: DeSclafani, Over 5.5 Strikeouts

There is not a lot of familiarity between the Giants hitters and Widener, but that should not matter too much. Crawford has a home run in two career at-bats against Widener, while Yastrzemski has a hit and Wade has never faced him. Wade also has 10 extra-base hits over his last 13 games, including five home runs. It should also be worth noting that Yastrzemski is only hitting .160 over that same span and only has a .204 on-base percentage. Crawford has hit safely in each of the last four games and has an RBI in each of them.

Pick: Wade Over 1.5 Hits + Walks
Pick: Yastrzemski Under 1.5 Hits + Walks
Pick: Crawford Over 1.5 Hits + Walks
