In NBA DFS and daily fantasy basketball as a whole, it is not as simple as rostering who we think the best play is. We have to consider the odds each individual player has of going off or busting. Nobody is a sure thing. With the Awesemo NBA DFS Boom vs. Bust Tool, we have our own odds to help us navigate range of outcomes for NBA daily fantasy. These are some of the NBA DFS picks on DraftKings and FanDuel that have the best NBA DFS projections of booming or busting according to our tool.
DraftKings + FanDuel Boom/Bust NBA DFS Projections | Feb. 7
NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates
LaMelo Ball vs. Wizards: $7,800/$7,800
30.5% DraftKings Boom/40.1% FanDuel Boom
While Terry Rozier came back last game, the Hornets opted to keep Ball in the starting lineup, running a three-guard rotation. However, Devonte’ Graham left the game injured and will not play tonight, which further solidifies Ball’s role. Playing alongside Rozier and the rest of the starters last game, Ball put up 27 shots and finished the game with 59 DraftKings and 59.8 FanDuel points. Ball leads with a 24.9% usage rate when playing alongside Rozier and without Graham this season. His scoring and playmaking abilities should again be on display today, facing a Wizards team that often forgets there’s a defensive side of the floor.
Kawhi Leonard vs. Kings: $9,100/$9,900
29.6% DraftKings Boom/32.2% FanDuel Boom
Paul George will be out tonight again, which obviously benefits Leonard. Playing without George this season, Leonard has a 32.9% usage rate (+2.9%), and he averaged nearly 1.5 fantasy points per minute. He played without George against the Celtics, and the result was 51.25 DraftKings points and 48.7 FanDuel points. In a weaker matchup against the Kings, Leonard is a solid play for cash games, and he has the upside for tournaments.

Jordan Clarkson vs. Pacers: $5,700/$5,000
24.9% DraftKings Boom/42.2% FanDuel Boom
Clarkson has been sneakily good for NBA DFS all season long, coming off the bench for the Jazz. Many view him simply as that scoring spark off the bench, but he has been contributing in other ways this season too. Clarkson is averaging a career-high 4.3 rebounds and 0.3 blocks, along with 1.8 assists and nearly a steal per game. His numbers recently reflect this same production, and the fact that he has attempted 8 3-pointers in each of the past two games shows there’s plenty of upside there, which sometimes is not the case with players in this salary tier.
NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates
Buddy Hield vs. Clippers: $7,000/$6,500
83.3% DraftKings Bust/66.8% FanDuel Bust
Hield was our bust in this article yesterday. Things played out about how we expected with rookie Tyrese Haliburton stealing the show. On a back-to-back, Hield’s price is the same, and nothing has changed. He continues to lose shots and value to the rookie and De’Aaron Fox. We need his price to reflect this before we are able to play Hield again.
