NBA DFS Picks Leverage & Optimizer Plays | Feb. 27
High-End Tier
Joel Embiid ($11,000) has the highest projection on the slate despite a tough matchup with the Heat tonight. Embiid is projected for 37% ownership, a 23% chance of booming and 32% chance of being optimal.
LaMelo Ball ($10,300) projects less than 1 fantasy point worse than Embiid at a slight discount and is projected to be pretty chalky against the Pistons. Ball is projected for 51% ownership, a 30% chance of booming and 45% chance of being optimal.
Jayson Tatum ($10,200) has the best leverage score on the high end. The Celtics will be without Jaylen Brown against the Knicks tonight, which gives Tatum just a slight boost in usage and fantasy production. Tatum is projected for 42% ownership, a 29% chance of booming and 50% chance of being optimal.

Mid-Tier
Killian Hayes ($4,600) is one of several Pistons who are among the best point-per-dollar plays on the slate, as the team will be without Bojan Bogdanovic, Jaden Ivey, Jalen Duren, and Cade Cunningham. Hayes is projected for 53% ownership, a 51% chance of booming and 48% chance of being optimal.
Isaiah Stewart ($5,100) will be among the best point-per-dollar plays if he is active, but he is currently questionable. Marvin Bagley ($4,500) already looks good with Stewart presumed in, but he’ll look even better if Stewart is ruled out.
Derrick White ($5,500), Marcus Smart ($5,500), Robert Williams ($5,100), and Malcolm Brogdon ($5,700) all project pretty well with Brown out, and all have slightly positive leverage scores at reasonable ownership.
Value Tier
Alec Burks ($3,500) is the best point-per-dollar play on the entire slate. He is projected for 68% ownership, a 71% chance of booming and 67% chance of being optimal. James Wiseman ($3,700), Hamidou Diallo ($3,600) and Isaiah Livers ($3,200) all join Burks among the top point-per-dollar plays of the slate. The question to ask is, “How many Pistons is too many?”
Guillermo Hernangomez ($3,600) has a nice leverage score. Hernangomez is projected f0r 11% ownership, a 23% chance of booming and 15% chance of being optimal.
