Stokastic’s rynpak Bags a Cool $20K in MLB DFS Win on Thursday | How He Made It Happen

The Stokastic MLB DFS wins keep a-coming, with yet another five-figure win in the books for one of our elite DFS pros. On Thursday night, Rayen “rynpak” Patnaik placed first in FanDuel’s $100K Thursday MLB Squeeze contest, netting himself $20,000 in the process!

One feature that really helped out rynpak with his process was Stokastic’s brand new MLB Sims Tool. It allowed him to simulate the slate using MLB DFS projections and find the players with the highest ROIs based on how the contest shook out. Let’s take a look at rynpak’s $20,000 FanDuel MLB DFS lineup:

Rynpak went with the four-man Braves stack , a semi-popular option overall but not among the top scorers on FanDuel. Most of the top 10 in this contest opted to go with the other side of this game and stacked the Mets, while others ran it back with a few Braves. Rynpak, on the other hand, omitted the Mets almost entirely, save for Francisco Lindor at shortstop. Ultimately, Ozzie Albies’ three-run walk-off home run sealed the win for rynpak in extra innings of that game.

The Braves rynpak chose were not overly contrarian — Albies, Austin Riley and Michael Harris were all over 11% owned. His top scorer in Jose Ramirez was also fairly heavy chalk at 31% — and the three-homer night made him worth it. But rolling with Travis d’Arnaud at catcher/first base was not popular for the highest-scoring teams, as most went with Bryce Harper, Matt Olson or Josh Naylor in that spot. Zack Wheeler at pitcher was a near-must for winning this contest as well since he had one of his first great outings of the season and dropped 50 fantasy points.

Overall, rynpak hit the right stack in the best game environment of the night — 23 combined runs — and got the ceiling pieces in Ramirez and Wheeler to round things out.

Of course, he made the most of his lineups last night with the help of Stokastic’s elite MLB DFS projections and ownership projections. These tools allowed him to differentiate between the good and bad chalk while also pinpointing the leverage points with his hitters.
