Matt Breida H/L 13.5 Rushing Yards

Now that Saquon Barkley is back and rolling, Breida’s role in the Giants offense seems to be naught. To be clear, it is not as if Breida killed it in Barkley’s absence, but he at least exceeded 13.5 yards rushing each game (though he never exceeded 30). With Barkley in the last two games, Breida rushed for 13 and 4 yards, and Barkley had 51 rushing snaps to Breida’s eight.

Based on how attempts are shaking out, Breida is going to need to rush for at least 4 yards per attempts to reach 14 total — he is averaging 2.7. Also, Daniel Jones is out again for the Giants. Yes, Tyrod Taylor has been competent the last two weeks (arguably better than Jones), but Jones probably increases the ceiling of the Giants offense. Without him, this looks like a Barkley-or-bust kind of game where New York essentially wears him out, and thus Breida will get the shaft.

Stokastic projects Breida for only 10.9 yards rushing against the Jets, giving lower than 13.5 yards a 57% chance of hitting.

Bijan Robinson H/L 48.5 Rushing Yards

The Robinson situation last week was odd — with the rookie out of nowhere getting just one carry and 11 snaps — but all signs point to him being a full go this weekend. Despite some up-and-down production and Atlanta not being as run-dominant as initially thought, there have been plenty of positives through the first half of Robinson’s debut season. And this number is set fairly based on his output thus far; he has played six games in full and gone for 49 or more three times and 48 or less three times.

This week, however, things are set to lean Robinson’s way. The Falcons’ matchup with the Titans has an extremely low game total of 35 points, and Desmond Ridder is projected on Stokastic for 28.4 pass attempts — third fewest of Week 8, behind Lamar Jackson and Division II rookie Tyson Bagent. Tennessee is sending out both Will Levis and Malik Willis to play in place of Ryan Tannehill, which screams low-scoring game. This one should be competitive and a bit of a grind, and that means running backs will feature prominently.

Robinson projects for 61.7 yards rushing on 12.7 attempts, with the only major concern here being Tyler Allgeier also projecting for double-digit carries and over 40 yards on the ground. That said, Stokastic is still relatively confident in Robinson’s chances in Week 8, as he exceeds 48.5 yards rushing 54% of the time in simulations.
