Can Gardner Minshew outshine Dak Prescott in a battle of NFC East foes on Saturday. Ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys matchup, let’s take a look at the Garnder Minshew-Dak Prescott DFS and fantasy football projections and see which quarterback has more value in the late afternoon game.
Gardner Minshew-Dak Prescott DFS & Fantasy Football Projections
Per our Stokastic expert DFS projections, Gardner Minshew is projected 15.79 fantasy points, with Dak Prescott at 18.21. But given the pricing difference between Minshew ($4,800) and Prescott ($6,10) we see the Eagles backup quarterback with some more value. With our ownership projection tool, Minshew will be owned at around 9.3%, with Prescott in 6.7% of lineups.
Using our weekly fantasy football quarterback rankings, Gardner Minshew (No. 15 on the board) unsurprisingly ranks behind Dak Prescott (No. 9).
One thing in Minshew’s favor for his first start of the season is the Cowboys defense that has been torn to shreds by opposing quarterbacks in recent weeks. Although Dallas ranks ninth in the league in fantasy football points allowed to QBs, they let Trevor Lawrence go off for 318 yards and four passing touchdowns in Week 15.
Minshew will also have the luxury of being inserted into an offense that has already found its identity, and it won’t hurt to have studs like A.J. brown and DeVonta Smith to throw the football to.
It’s been a hit-or-miss year for Dak Prescott, who has put up over 20 fantasy points twice (including last week), but has also finished with under 10 points on four separate occasions. He’ll now be going up against an Eagles defense that does a better job defending the pass than the run. Look for Dallas to ride running backs Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard early and often, limiting the potential for Prescott to put up massive numbers.
While Dak Prescott remains the safer play, there is definitely some DFS value in Gardner Minshew in Week 16.
