The 2021 NHL season is officially underway. Like many sports, the easiest way to maximize your ceiling is through stacking, and that couldn’t be any truer in hockey. For reference, each goal averages 1.7 assists. In this article I’ll help you find the best stacks and NHL DFS picks to make for DraftKings and FanDuel fantasy hockey lineups using Awesemo’s Top Stack Tool.

Top Stacks: DraftKings + FanDuel NHL DFS Picks | Jan. 24
Top Stack: VGK1
Today we get a couple of slates to play for NHL DFS, and on this early slate it looks like the Vegas Top line needs to be used. With their fourth game this week against the Coyotes, we once again expect them to be a likely top stack at a fraction of the ownership up top.
Chandler Stephenson is a large reason this stack goes consistently under-owned because of his cheap salary and short track record. At $3,600 on FanDuel, he makes the stack extremely reasonable overall at $19,300 (third highest on slate). The spend-up options on this line are Mark Stone and Max Pacioretty. Both carry a ton of upside and floor to boot. As a group they have produced multiple points in every game but one and bring a projection north of 35 (their average per game).
The Coyotes are a mess of a team up front and this line should be able to take advantage of their lackluster defense (22nd in goals per game allowed).

Over-Owned Stack: CHI1
Often a fluid situation with this team’s top line it makes sense to cap their exposure here.
Patrick Kane is a NHL DFS stud ,but it is far too frequent he’s doing the scoring on his own or on a different line than he started. If you take last game for example he only skated 12 minutes with his starting line mates Pius Suter and Alex DeBrincat while accruing over 19 minutes total.
I am far more likely to pivot to the powerplay stack here. The lack of consistency with Chicago’s top line and the highest ownership on the slate should be avoided.
