Best NBA Player Props & Betting Picks | Joel Embiid

With OddsShopper, finding the best NBA betting player props is fast and simple. All users must do is filter the prop selections, sort the page and find the best pick to bet. The process is extremely quick and highly effective. Try out the tool for yourself tonight with the three featured Embiid props below.

Under 33.5 Points (-105, DraftKings)

Given the scoring run that Embiid has been on recently, playing under his points prop is not exactly the first thing that comes to most bettors’ minds. However, his recent performances have also helped to inflate the NBA player props market ahead of tonight’s contest. The betting total of 33.5 sits a full 4.5 points above the 29.0 that Embiid has averaged per game this season. Then again, this is the same Embiid who has scored at least 38 points in each of the last four games, dropped 50 on the Orlando Magic last week, and has topped the 30-point threshold in nine of the last 10. However, it is worth pointing out that only in the last four contests did Embiid surpass the lofty prop total of 33.5.

Awesemo’s projections peg Embiid to score exactly 28.83 points in tonight’s game. It is worth noting that while the Lakers play at a quick pace, they do rank in the upper half of the NBA in defensive efficiency this season. The return of Anthony Davis will certainly help Los Angeles defend Embiid in the post. After ballooning to as high as 34.5, OddsShopper currently shows this scoring prop set at 33.5 across the board. Thanks to the massive statistical discrepancy between the projections and the betting market, OddsShopper gives this under play a 36% ROI.

Under 4.5 Assists (-106, FanDuel)

While the value found on the assists prop for Embiid pales in comparison to the scoring pick above, there is still some to be gained. The 27-year-old center’s assist totals have been much more sporadic of late than his consistently high scoring production. A pair of six-assist games preceded a four-assist effort in the 76ers’ last contest. Prior to those three most recent games, Embiid had three straight matchups where he had no more than three assists. He comes into Thursday averaging 4.2 on the season, a touch below the NBA player props line of 4.5.

Given that Embiid would need to outperform his season average by nearly one full assist in order to clear tonight’s NBA betting mark, it makes sense to look at the under. Awesemo’s projections are essentially dead-even with the market. They suggest that Embiid will be good for 4.54 assists in tonight’s game. At optimal -106 odds, this under prediction does carry a small positive ROI of 3%. Bettors should reference OddsShopper before making this wager as a price difference of up to 10 cents exists between sportsbooks.

Under 11.5 Rebounds (-125, PointsBet)

Once again, the value is minimal on the rebounding prop for Embiid tonight. The MVP candidate is averaging a double-double on the season so far with 10.8 rebounds per game to go along with his scoring output. He has also been working the glass hard recently, finishing with at least 12 boards in six of Philadelphia’s last seven games. Once again, the return of Anthony Davis figures to provide a much-needed boost to a Lakers outfit that has struggled on the boards this season. If nothing else, perhaps Davis can limit Embiid’s impact. Then again, the fact that Embiid would need to surpass his per-game average by over one rebound to hit the over on tonight’s NBA player props line makes it tough to look anywhere but under.

While Awesemo’s projection of 11.26 rebounds is shaded heavily that way, so too is the NBA betting market. With -125 representing the best price available according to OddsShopper, the positive ROI value for this prop bet is slim to none.
