Robby Ray over 7.5 Strikeouts: +105 (FanDuel)
What a difference a year makes. Robbie Ray, a perennial amazing talent underachieving, moving to Toronto might be the best thing that has happened to him. Ray sporting a 32.1% strikeout rate is old news, but his walks are down to a negligible 5.9%, and his xwOBA allowed is also excellent at .310. Facing a swing-happy Orioles team that sports some power but also many strikeouts should yield to a whiff-rich game for Ray.
Max Fried over 5.5 Strikeouts: +120 (BetMGM)
Max Fried has the stuff to have a much better strikeout percentage than his 21.8%. Dealing with injuries to start the year sapped his velocity, but that is long in the past now. Cardinals are not prone to striking out, but a measly 5.5-run total should be easy work for Fried. His very low 85.4 mph exit velocity given up and only 6.5% barrels will also let him stay in the game long enough to accumulate the punchouts necessary for the bet to cash.
Matt Olson to Hit Home Run: +275 (DraftKings)
Matt Olson has some of the best pure hitting numbers in the league this year. His 16.5 degree launch angle, 51.1% hard hits and .575 xSLG are all excelling, not to mention he has really worked on making contact and only has a 16.5% strikeout rate. Facing the short porch at Yankee Stadium in 80-degree weather also does not hurt his chances of going yard. The pitcher he is going to face, Jameson Taillon, is known for ground balls, but this year he has allowed a 20-degree launch angle and 9.7% barrels. All of this adds up to a good shot of Olson hitting a home run — or two — tonight.
