5 MUST BET Nets vs. Jazz NBA Player Props & Betting Picks Tonight | 2/4/22

If the Brooklyn Nets are going to stop a six-game skid it is going to be without James Harden — a mid-afternoon scratch ahead of tonight. Harden was brutal in the Nets most recent loss to the Kings, and will have to watch Kyrie Irving lead a squad already down Kevin Durant. While the Jazz are dealing win a key injury of their own, Brooklyn is down two key pieces amidst a major slump. Expect more minutes for both Patty Mills, Blake Griffin, and Nicolas Claxton as the Nets try and stay with the Jazz out west. Not only have the Nets dropped six straight games, but also failed to cover any of them.

The Jazz get Donovan Mitchell back from the concussion protocol but still are down Rudy Gobert. They may also be down Hassan Whiteside at the center position, further weakening their front court. Rudy Gay and Jordan Clarkson are also questionable heading into tonight’s game. This is the first of six straight home games for the Jazz, but it there has not been any advantage against the spread. Utah is looking to snap a 12-game skid of failing to cover the spread at home, which is an 0-12 stretch against the spread. Tonight may present the perfect opportunity with a wounded Nets team in town.

Jazz -5: -110 (DraftKings)

Make sure your first stop before placing any wager is to OddsShopper so you can take advantage of any late line movement. This line jumped 2 points as soon as the Harden news came down, allowing us to still get in under two full possessions. The Nets are losers of six straight and just got word they are down to one superstar. The Jazz could lose interest before they lose this game, but it is still enough of a concern to warrant not taking a side. The variable that ultimately pushes this towards a Jazz play is the return of Mitchell. The Nets are not going to be able to take advantage of Gobert’s absence, nor will they get enough from Mills to compensate for Harden’s loss. Take this while it is still under six points.

Patty Mills Over 1.5 Assists: +125 (PointsBet)

While he may not shoot the lights out tonight, Mills should be in a great position to facilitate, at least getting two assists. OddsShopper can sort by expected win rate or expected ROI, and this bet pops up at the top for both, across the entire slate. Awesemo’s free projection has Mills finishing with 2.4 assists, which makes even more sense without Harden on the floor and possibly two centers out for Utah. OddsShopper has a 69% chance of this prop going over along with a gigantic 55% xROI on the bet. This bet has a great return at +125 and should hit on circumstance alone.

Kyrie Irving Under 5.5 Assists: +116 (FanDuel)

Irving immediately turns into score-first mode tonight and should wear down the likes of both Mitchell and Mike Conley. Awesemo has Irving projected at 4.5 assists which factors into the OddsShopper 70% chance on hitting the bet. The second-highest xROI in this game is this prop at 50%; expect Irving to take a ton of shots and his passing to be a little less present.

Mike Conley Over 2.5 3-Pointers: +144 (FanDuel)

Mitchell’s minutes are unclear returning from a concussion, but it should impact Conley the least, especially with some other scoring options possibly down and out. It is an interesting point of attack as the Nets are not going to defend the perimeter nearly as well as if they were healthy, and Conley should see a slight increase in volume, at the very least no decrease. Awesemo’s free projection for Conley is right at 2.5 made 3’s, but found us an exceptional return at FanDuel. There is still a 46% chance of the bet hitting despite the projection being right at the prop total. Conley has taken at least four 3’s in 18 straight games.

Kyrie Irving 4+ Made 3’s: +205 (FanDuel)

Irving is also in a great spot without having Harden and Durant on the floor while still having a couple of other 3-point threats around him. The Jazz may take away Irving’s ability to drive and score/dish, keeping him more on the perimeter. He can hit this number on eight attempts, but he should have even more.
