If the Washington Football Team wins this game, they are in the playoffs. That is why this game was flexed to Sunday Night Football, as the final playoff picture will not be fully painted until this game is completed.
The biggest question for Washington was which quarterback would be under center, following the release of Dwayne Haskins. It’s the veteran Alex Smith that will be starting tonight, as he apparently is healthy enough to go. Washington has lost their last two games where Smith has been sidelined, so he will be welcomed back to the lineup by all. However, the strength of this team will continue to be the defensive line. Washington ranks fourth in sack percentage this season (8.15%). With them projected to be playing with a lead against a depleted offensive line, they could be stat packing this evening.
The Eagles will be shorthanded yet again tonight. Along with all of the injuries that have continued to stack up throughout the season, Philadelphia will also be without Dallas Goedert, DeSean Jackson and Miles Sanders. Defensively Philadelphia is without Fletcher Cox, Derek Barnett, Shaun Bradley and Duke Riley. Jalen Hurts has completed under 55% of his passes in his three starts. These injuries, along with Washington’s pass rush, will make things difficult for the rookie today.
