This is a quick-hitter column to show you the key stats needed to make informed PGA DFS picks for your DraftKings and FanDuel daily fantasy golf lineups. In this space, we’ll look for a few recommendations in the final round of The Players Championship. For typical Showdown GPPs, DraftKings will offer upwards of $50,000 to first place for second-and third-round tournaments, and sometimes even up to $100,000 for the final round. They also provide weekend-long contests that offer $25,000 to first place on average. FanDuel has even tried to get into the weekend-long and final-round contests, offering $10,000 and $5,000 to first place in their PGA DFS Showdown contests. Let’s take a look at PGA DFS picks for Round 4 of The Players Championship.
Round 4 Showdown PGA DFS Picks: The PLAYERS Championship
Previous Round Recap
It was an enjoyable day of golf, with Jordan Spieth, one of the biggest early movers, teeing off at 9:25 a.m. EST. He shot a 4-under 68, but it could have easily been 65 if his putter had been working. Then Justin Thomas stepped on the course and got off to a blazing start, birdieing his first four holes. He finished the day at 8 under and sits just 3 back of Lee Westwood. In the final pairing with Bryson DeChambeau for the second straight week, Westwood’s contention is a remarkable feat given how different he and DeChambeau are as golfers.
Cameron Smith was also out bright and early, shooting a 65 to move into position for yet another strong finish. Other movers on the day included Jon Rahm, Paul Casey and 2017 Players champion Si Woo Kim.
Quick-Hitter Round 3 Stat Recap
Even within his bogey-free 68, Westwood wasn’t able to gain strokes putting on the day, snapping his streak of gaining strokes in all facets of his game. There were only a few that managed to gain strokes in all four categories in Round 3:
- Justin Thomas
- Paul Casey
- Adam Long

General Strategy and Players Championship PGA DFS Picks
It’s just such a better-flowing day with everyone going off the first tee paired in twosomes. Golfers are able to make runs up the leaderboard before the leaders tee off, adding another variable to the already high-variance game of golf. The weather should be ideal again, and remember that finishing points are allocated to golfers for tomorrow’s final round slate.
PGA DFS Picks for Round 4 of The Players Championship
- Jon Rahm ($10,500): Getting away from the final group with a chance to post, Rahm seems to finally be putting it all together. He didn’t drive it great today, laying up on two of the four par 5’s; Rahm still fired a 67. If he cleans that up, Rahm could put pressure on the leaders as they walk over to 17.
- Sergio Garcia ($8,700): Most of Garcia’s scoring was done on Thursday, as the last two days have been lackluster. Still, he has stayed in contention and now has a good chance to jump back at lower ownership. Having won here before, Garcia knows what it takes to win on Sunday.
- Abraham Ancer ($8,100): The only part of Ancer’s game missing lately has been his putter, and he found that today. That should give him confidence throughout his bag tomorrow, as his ball striking had been exceptional up to this week. If his tee game steps up a bit tomorrow, Ancer could find himself in the top 10 and maybe even the top five by day’s end.
Sneaky PGA DFS Pick for Round 4
- Si Woo Kim ($7,300): I mentioned Kim above as one of the big movers of the day, as he found both his putting stroke and approach game in Round 3. After withdrawing from the Arnold Palmer Invitational last week, Kim got here early and put in the work to get his game in better shape. If his tee game steps up a bit tomorrow, and he’s able to find a couple of more fairways, Kim could find himself moving up the leaderboard quite quickly tomorrow.
DraftKings and FanDuel The Players Championship Lineup Fill-Ins
- Jordan Spieth ($9,000)
- Harry Higgs ($6,600)
- Lanto Griffin ($7,100)
- Talor Gooch ($7,200)
