March Madness CBB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Fantasy Basketball

Stud CBB Picks Today

Keegan Murray ($10,100) — The first round of the NCAA Tournament creates a tricky balancing act for DFS lineups. Most of the elite teams find themselves in blowout spots, running the risk of reduced minutes. Likewise, some of the elite studs for mid-majors now face a stiff increase in level of competition. One player without any questions here is Iowa’s Keegan Murray. Iowa is a 10.5-point favorite over Richmond in a game with a 150.5-point total. Murray will play nearly every minute without foul trouble, and he has contributed a 29.7% shot rate, 31.8% rebound rate and 16% assist rate over Iowa’s last three games. Richmond’s’ 164th-ranked defense isn’t scaring anyone.

Jamaree Bouyea ($7,900) — San Francisco enters tonight’s slate as a 2-point underdog to Murray State in a game with a 137-point total. Unfortunately, San Francisco lost Yauhen Massalski, but usage leader Jamaree Bouyea is still in play. Bouyea has played 38, 40 and 40 minutes over San Francisco’s last three games, contributing a 23.5% shot rate, 19% rebound rate and 36.4% assist rate. Without Massalski, there’s a chance Bouyea will take on even more usage here.

Baylor Scheierman ($7,600) — One of the best game environments on the slate, South Dakota State is a 2-point favorite over Providence in a game with a 147.5-point total. Also priced like a typical mid-major, the entire South Dakota State starting five is in play here. Leading the group is Baylor Scheierman, who will play almost every minute in competitive games. Scheierman has an absurd 18.1% shot rate, 21.8% rebound rate and 30% assist rate on the year. For those looking at contrarian options, Douglas Wilson is the same price and should be lower owned in the same offense.

Mid-Range CBB Picks Today

Johnny Juzang ($6,300) — After injuring his hip and playing limited minutes down the stretch for UCLA, Johnny Juzang finally appears fully healthy. UCLA enters this spot as a 13.5-point favorite over Akron in a game with a 128-point implied team total. Still, Juzang is priced for his limited role, even after playing 39 minutes for UCLA in their final conference tournament game. On the year Juzang easily leads the Bruins in usage (20.9% rate), highlighted by his 19.1% shot rate. Even in a lower-totaled game, UCLA has a strong enough team total to target Juzang.

Enrique Freeman ($6,000) — On the other side of the UCLA game, Akron has a miniscule 57.25-point implied team total as a 13.5-point underdog. However, Akron plays a narrow rotation and Enrique Freeman has a strong matchup in the frontcourt. UCLA ranks 119th in effective height and 66th in rebounding, opening the door for a potential strong performance. Freeman is a major foul risk, but he has a 14.7% shot rate and 30.9% rebounding rate on the year. With full minutes, Freeman has a solid shot at a double-double at a discounted price tag.

Joe Bryant ($5,300) — Norfolk State took down the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference for the right to play Baylor. It is a 20.5-point underdog here in a game with a 137-point total. However, Norfolk State plays extremely fast and could get minutes against Baylor’s scrubs in a blowout. Norfolk State also has an underpriced stud in Joe Bryant. Bryant has played 39, 38 and 37 minutes in each of the last three games, contributing a 23.8% shot rate, 14% rebound rate and 20% assist rate in that span. Even playing for a team like Norfolk State, Bryant is too cheap here.

The CBB DFS lineup optimizer was in LOVE with Enrique Freeman as one of the best mid-range CBB picks today. He’s popping in the projections and looks like one of the best plays on the entire slate. CBB Value Picks Today

Remy Martin ($4,400) — Kansas is in a blowout spot as a 21.5-point favorite over Texas Southern in a game with a 144.5-point total. However, Remy Martin still finds himself below $5,000 against an opponent that plays with pace. Martin is still working his way back from injury, but he has now played 26 and 19 minutes in Kansas’ last two games. Martin has a solid 15.3% usage rate on the year, so he continues to project well. Kansas will unleash him at some point, but there’s still a pretty good chance he will plays 20 to 25 minutes in a blowout.

Charlie Easley ($4,000) — The entire South Dakota State starting five is in play, and that includes Charlie Easley and Zeke Mayo. Easley has played 35, 29 and 31 minutes in the Jackrabbits’ last three games, contributing a 9.3% shot rate, 11.3% rebound rate and 13.9% assist rate. His minutes are slightly more consistent than Mayo’s, but Mayo’s 13.3% usage rate bests Easley’s 10.6% usage rate. Ultimately, both are useable here.

Frankie Collins ($3,200) — Michigan will be without DeVante’ Jones today opening a chasm of usage in the offense. Freshman point guard, Frankie Collins projects to take on most of the usage. Michigan a slight favorite of a pick-’em in most spots against Colorado State in a game with a 140.5-point total. Collins rarely plays, but Michigan is simply too thin to play anyone else. At his price, he projects extremely well despite the uncertainty.
