NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Awesemo Grades | April 7

C Wendell Carter

DraftKings Grades: B, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: B, Values: B

It didn’t take long for Carter to find his groove with the Magic. In his past three games, he has scored over 40 DraftKings points and seen at least 30 minutes in every game. He has started at center in these most recent two with Khem Birch out of the lineup, but even with Birch available Wednesday night, Carter should stay in the 30- or 35-minute range, starter or not. He was the main piece acquired from Chicago in return for All-Star Nikola Vucevic at the trade deadline, and it would make little sense for the Magic not to give Carter serious run again tonight with how well he has been playing.

On the menu for Wednesday night is one of the premier matchups in fantasy basketball, the Wizards. For the season, they rank fifth to last in defensive efficiency and first in pace. In their last 10 games, opposing centers have exposed Washington for the second-most DraftKings points per game, and Carter’s recent success should continue in this beautiful spot.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 32.0%, FanDuel 9.0%

SF Miles Bridges

DraftKings Grades: B, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: B, Values: A

Bridges underwhelmed against Boston on Sunday (18.25 DraftKings points), but he still played 31 minutes as the replacement starter for Gordon Hayward (foot). Hayward will be out again tonight, along with Malik Monk (ankle) and LaMelo Ball (wrist). Until they get healthier, the Hornets are going to be running out a tight rotation with Bridges regularly seeing more than 30 minutes every night. After facing a Celtics defense Sunday that has vastly improved since the trade deadline, the Hornets will meet a Thunder club that ranks second-to-last in defensive rating across their past 10.

When Bridges has been on the floor this season without Ball, Monk and Hayward, his usage has seen a notable 5.3% increase. Plus, Bridges is averaging 30.25 DraftKings points per game when he has surpassed the 30-minute threshold this season. Bridges is one of the better forward values on both sites, but his $6,000 salary on DraftKings firmly places him as a top-five point-per-dollar for the site based on Awesemo’s projections.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 37.6%, FanDuel 21.8%

C Karl-Anthony Towns

DraftKings Grades: A, Values: B

FanDuel Grades: A, Values: B

Towns travels to Indiana tonight, where he will go head-to-head with a Pacers team that is very depleted in their frontcourt. Domantas Sabonis (questionable, ankle) missed his second straight game last night, and then Myles Turner (questionable) went down with a sprained ankle in the 16-point loss to the Bulls. With this being a second night of a back-to-back, it wouldn’t be surprising if both were inactive tonight, leaving the Pacers with Goga Bitadze as their only healthy center.

With Turner playing a half and Bitadze filling in after he exited, Vucevic feasted on Indiana for 64.25 DraftKings points. Towns has similar upside tonight, with him currently playing his best basketball of the season, amassing 51.25 DraftKings points per game in his last 10. Even if one of Sabonis or Turner suits up, the Pacers are going to be distraught on the defensive end, and Towns’ price tags on both DraftKings and FanDuel are far too low for his current form in this projected shootout. As of early Wednesday afternoon, this matchup’s total is the second largest of this nine-game slate at 233 points, and Towns is forecasted for some low ownership on both sites, per Awesemo projections.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 13.4%, FanDuel 4.6%

SG Bogdan Bogdanovic

DraftKings Grades: C, Values: C

FanDuel Grades: C, Values: D

Bogdanovic is an interesting way to differentiate  in GPPs tonight. The Hawks are dealing with a slew of injuries to many key players, with John Collins (ankle), De’Andre Hunter (knee) and Cam Reddish (Achilles) all out, and Danilo Gallinari (ankle) questionable. Even if Gallinari is active, Bogdanovic will garner a healthy role against the Grizzlies. In these past four with Collins, Reddish and Hunter on the shelf, Bogdanovic has logged 33.8 minutes per game as the Hawks’ starting shooting guard. In all the time he has spent without these three teammates, Bogdanovic’s fantasy production has increased to 1.0 DraftKings points per minute.

Since entering Atlanta’s starting five seven games ago, Bogdanovic has flashed some serious upside with three performances of over 45 DraftKings points. Memphis may rank inside the top 10 in defensive efficiency, but they are most vulnerable to shooting guards, giving up the fourth-most DraftKings points per game to the position over their last 10. Gallinari joining the Hawks’ crowded inactive list would be an obvious boost for Bogdanovic, but either way, he is a great leverage target considering his lack of popularity according to Awesemo’s ownership projections.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 11.4%, FanDuel 1.6%
