Yahoo NBA DFS Picks & Fantasy Basketball Value Plays Today | 2/2/22

Awesemo has a ton of great daily fantasy basketball tools and advice to tackle all the large contests over on Yahoo in NBA DFS. This article will provide some first impressions of the upcoming fantasy basketball slate, including some of the top matchups and value plays. It will discuss salaries and who sticks out at various tiers for Yahoo NBA DFS picks for today.

Yahoo NBA DFS Picks & Value Plays Today | Feb. 2

Guard — Luka Doncic $52

The Mavericks have some very key absences at the moment which means Luka Doncic will be carrying the load for them for the foreseeable future. The Mavs guard is coming off two of his better games in quite some time and has displayed a massive usage rate of well over 35% when both Kristaps Porzingis and Tim Hardaway Jr. are both off the floor. Doncic rates out second overall in the point projections on Awesemo today and has the best value score among the top three plays. Locking him in a game where the Mavericks have a big 113-point implied total is a good way to kick rosters off on Yahoo today.

Guard — C.J. McCollum $30

The Trail Blazers are coming off a couple of ugly losses, but it has not stopped C.J. McCollum from posting some solid fantasy games. The veteran shooting guard has scored over 20 points in four straight games and has topped 33.0 fantasy points on Yahoo in seven of his last eight games. The matchup with the Lakers is a tasty one, as they rank bottom five in points and assists allowed. Shooting guard is wide open today and there is a tight spread in the projections on Awesemo between most of the plays in the $30 to $39 range. Take the discount on McCollum, who has provided a great floor and has an upside matchup today.

Forward — Jayson Tatum $41

There is a big gap at small forward today between the top option and the rest of the pack, with Jayson Tatum coming in as the clear top play. To get an idea of how isolated Tatum is, he is ranked inside the top 10 of the point projections, and the next highest-ranked small forward is projected with 15 points less than him on this slate. The matchups do not get much better than Charlotte, who is ranked second last in rebounds and points allowed. Tatum is not as consistent as some of the other studs worth paying up for, but if he posts a ceiling game, that creates a huge disadvantage at small forward.

Forward — Franz Wagner $23

The Magic are coming off a bad loss but get a good matchup against a Pacers team who is down multiple players from their core rotation. Franz Wagner likely will not be hugely popular given some of the massive value available at small forward under $20, and he comes in having scored over 20 points in three of his last four games. This is a close point spread, so Wagner should be in a position where he is shooting late into this game and gets a Pacers team who is ranked just 22nd in points allowed. Wagner’s a great pivot in big fields today where many will be paying way up or way down at his position.

Center — Anthony Davis $41

This likely is not what a lot of people want to hear, but this is a night to risk getting Anthony Davis into lineups. Davis is probable but played through the wrist issue in his last game to post a productive game. The upside with Davis when Lebron James is out of the lineup is massive and he is projected within a couple of points of Joel Embiid today in the Awesemo Projections as they fight for supremacy as the best non-Nikola Jokic option today. The price difference between Embiid and Davis is too big to ignore though, especially with the Trail Blazers on tap for Davis, who are dead last in field goal percentage allowed.

Center — Mo Bamba $17

Head back to the Magic to again take advantage of a Pacers team that will be massively short-handed. Mo Bamba faces a Pacers front line that will be without their top two center options and is coming off a couple of slow games, which is going to keep his ownership suppressed. The Magic have a solid implied team total (for them) and are just 3.5-point underdogs on the road. This matchup is worth taking advantage of and Bamba has the best value score in the Awesemo Projections of anyone player ranked over $15 on Yahoo.

Yahoo NBA DFS Value Play — Isaiah Jackson $18

While gamers can take advantage of the Pacers injuries by playing the Orlando side, there is also a great opportunity for a player like Isaiah Jackson to continue to see heavier usage. Jackson dominated the frontcourt in his last game, posting a double-double and has posted double-digit points scored in each of his last three games. The usage will not go down for Jackson any time soon and he faces a Magic team who are ranked just 23rd in rebounds allowed. The sub-$20 salary is almost criminal on Yahoo.

Yahoo NBA DFS Value Play — Cedi Osman $12

Instead of saying play Cedi Osman, head over to Matt LaMarca’s NBA DFS First Look article. Osman is a screaming buy at these levels and ranks out in Awesemo Projections with the second-best value score of any player on the slate for play on Yahoo.
