Boom/Bust NBA Fantasy Projections | April 3
NBA DraftKings + FanDuel Boom CandidatesÂ
Giannis Antetokounmpo vs. Kings: $10,900/$10,899
23.9% DraftKings Boom/36.0% FanDuel Boom
Giannis Antetokounmpo gets a terrific matchup against the Kings tonight. The Bucks are 6.5-point favorites on the road, which suggests the game will stay close and competitive. The Kings have the worst defensive efficiency in the league, at 115.7. Both teams are also in the top-half of the league in pace. Again, if the game stays close, then there will be big points in this game. Giannis played the Kings at the end of February, putting up a “boom” performance. The game stayed close enough for him to play 33 minutes, and he has a 42.1% usage. He finished with a 38-point, 18-rebound double-double. According to the Awesemo NBA DFS projections, Giannis has the highest raw points total, and is a top-10 point-per-dollar value as well. The Kings don’t have anyone to guard him, not that they can defend anyone.
Luka Doncic vs. Wizards: $10,600/$10,400
21.1 DraftKings Boom/28.5% FanDuel Boom
Luka Doncic has struggled over his past five games, finishing as an NBA fantasy bust in all five. This has led to his price slowly declining. At a much more manageable price tonight, it could now be the time to play Doncic. This is Luka’s first game against Russell Westbrook and the Wizards today. He had solid, high-usage triple-double performances against Westbrook in the past. Favored by 5.5 on the road, as of writing, this should be a competitive game tonight. A close, competitive game against the Wizards is always a good thing, since that typically means there are plenty of NBA fantasy points to be had. While Doncic’s ownership is projected to be second-highest on the slate, it’s a great situation for him to work his way out of a slump.

Dean Wade vs. Heat: $4,800/$4,600
16.1% DraftKings Boom/27.0% FanDuel Boom
Dean Wade has been quietly solid for the Cavs. He has played 30-plus minutes in three straight games and has made back-to-back starts. Both things should continue tonight, with both Jarrett Allen and Larry Nance out. Wade is coming off a season-high 14 shot attempts, with 11 coming from behind the arc. He also grabbed eight rebounds. Wade is a top-3 value play on Alex Baker’s NBA DFS Big Board for DraftKings and FanDuel. With plenty of floor time again tonight and other teammates facing tougher individual matchups, Wade should be active yet again, giving him a high ceiling if the shots start falling.
NBA DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates
Victor Oladipo vs. Cavaliers: $7,300/$7,600
85.8% DraftKings Bust/81.9% FanDuel Bust
Victor Oladipo made his Miami Heat debut on Thursday, playing just 23 minutes. While his minutes should be higher tonight, Oladipo is still overpriced. He had a 25.9% usage rate, which is lower than what he operated with in Houston, which is what his price is based off of. It seems wise to avoid Oladipo until his price drops.
