NBA Fantasy: Boom Bust Tool Projections for DraftKings + FanDuel Lineups Today 5/31

Today’s NBA fantasy slate could bring the end to a first-round matchup. The 76ers are up 3-0 on the Wizards and can sweep the series with a win tonight. In addition, the Jazz hold a 2-1 lead over the Grizzlies and can take a commanding lead with a Game 4 victory. This is going to impact some of the top plays on FanDuel and DraftKings with teams in desperation mode to pick up wins. This is shown in the projections for the Awesemo NBA DFS Boom vs. Bust Tool.

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates

Joel Embiid vs. Wizards: $9,500 DraftKings/$10,200 FanDuel

48.8% DraftKings Boom/28.5% FanDuel Boom

The price dip on Embiid’s DraftKings’ salary doesn’t make much sense. His fantasy output wasn’t great in the first two games of the series, but it was circumstantial. He was in foul trouble in Game 1, and Game 2 was a blowout so Embiid played limited minutes. In Game 3, Embiid looked unstoppable and scored 57.5 DraftKings points in just 28 minutes. Assuming the Wizards go all out with starters minutes to extend the series, this game should finish with a tighter final score. This would allow Embiid to finally eclipse 30 minutes for the first time in this matchup. If he does get full run, his ceiling is immense, and he is the second-highest projected scorer in the Awesemo NBA DFS projections tonight, behind only Russell Westbrook.

Bradley Beal vs. 76ers: $9,100 DraftKings/$9,600 FanDuel

39.4% DraftKings Boom/22.9% FanDuel Boom

Beal comes out as a good play in projections for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, he’s going to likely play a massive amount of minutes with the Wizards facing elimination. He played 37 minutes last game, even though it was decided by 29 points, and he finished the game on the bench. This puts Beal in line to play over 40 minutes as long as tonight’s game is competitive. The other key part of this game is the health of Westbrook. He is officially listed as questionable tonight with an ankle injury. The ailment is clearly bothering him in recent games, and this could force Beal to take on more usage. Westbrook is likely to gut out the injury and play, but Beal might have to hoist more shots anyway with Westbrook at less than 100%.

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates

Dillon Brooks vs. Grizzlies: $6,400 DraftKings/$7,100 FanDuel

47% DraftKings Bust/69.2% FanDuel Bust

Brooks is making a name for himself in the postseason. His gritty defense and hustle play is making him a fan favorite in recent games. The problem with him is the salary and the matchup. This is about as expensive as Brooks is ever priced, and a matchup against the Jazz is far from optimal. They have one of the best defenses in the NBA and are tough to score fantasy points against. It is also hard to ignore that Brooks wasn’t a great fantasy producer in the regular season. He only averaged 28.17 DraftKings points per game and isn’t an efficient scorer. According to the Awesemo NBA DFS projections, Brooks is a -3.19 value on the slate tonight.
