🏀 SuperDraft NBA Fantasy Picks for Monday, 2/22

A five-game slate is on tap for tonight at SuperDraft, and while it’s devoid of a true headliner, I’m especially interested in the game between the Wizards and Lakers. Los Angeles has struggled without two of its key players, and that could create an opportunity for Washington’s star players to pop off at higher-than-usual multipliers. We’re looking at some NBA SuperDraft lineup picks for Monday, Feb. 22.

If you haven’t heard of SuperDraft, it’s an innovative new way to play DFS. Instead of using a salary cap, players receive multipliers that inversely correspond to their value. For example, Stephen Curry will come with a lower multiplier because he should play most of the game. In comparison, a rotational player like Danuel House will receive a higher multiplier to compensate for his limited minutes.

SuperDraft NBA Fantasy Picks Advice & Strategy | Feb. 22

Top Five Low-Multiplier Plays

Using Awesemo’s SuperDraft NBA Projections and OddsShopper’s projected point totals, here are the top five high-value players for your NBA SuperDraft lineup. For a player to qualify, they must have a multiplier at or below 1.35x.

Russell Westbrook (1.35x)

Westbrook and the Wizards have a challenging matchup with the defensively effective Lakers tonight, but Los Angeles hasn’t been the same without Anthony Davis and Dennis Schroder. Since they’ll both likely miss this game, I have to favor the Wizards and their fast-paced offense — especially with Westbrook’s multiplier set this high.

LeBron James (1.1x)

James has had to step up because of Los Angeles’ injuries, and the slow-paced, defensive-minded Lakers will have to adjust to keep up with the Wizards, who play at the league’s fastest pace. Look for James and company to score boatloads of points as they attempt to keep up in what should be a high-scoring game — the point total currently sits at 227, per OddsShopper.

Damian Lillard (1.2x)

Like the Wizards, the Trail Blazers have a defensive challenge on tap for tonight. That said, Phoenix’s recent games have been especially high-scoring, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see big things out of Lillard here — especially with his multiplier set this high.

Bradley Beal (1.25x)

Again, the multipliers for Washington’s two stars are a bit high, and that creates some exploitable value in tonight’s matchup. Three of the top six players in projected SuperDraft points (Westbrook, James and Beal) will play in this matchup.

Luka Doncic (1x)

Doncic doesn’t have a multiplier here, but he’s projected for the second-most base points, and their game against the banged-up Grizzlies has the highest posted total (232.5), per OddsShopper.

Top Five High-Multiplier Plays

I’ll also use Awesemo’s SuperDraft NBA Projections and OddsShopper’s projected point totals to identify the top-5 low-value players for tonight’s slate. Only players with multipliers at or above 1.65x will qualify.

Kyle Kuzma (1.7x)

Kuzma’s multiplier still hasn’t fully adjusted for the expanded role he has played with Davis sidelined. Kuzma played 34 minutes in his last two games, and he averaged 19.5 points and 6.5 rebounds through that span. He should easily hit value at this high multiplier.

Montrezl Harrell (1.65x)

Harrell hasn’t seen his role increase as much as Kuzma’s, but he just double-doubled on Saturday despite playing just 24 minutes, and he’ll have a good shot to hit value against the fast-paced Wizards tonight.

Gary Trent Jr. (1.65x)

Our projections like Trent and Robert Covington (1.65x) tonight. I like Trent because of his minutes-heavy role, which makes him a fantastic high-floor option at this multiplier — even against a tough opponent like Phoenix.

Isaiah Roby (1.85x)

Al Horford hasn’t officially been declared out yet, but he hasn’t played in the second game of a back-to-back for the Thunder all season. As a result, Roby should draw the start, and he should easily score a boatload of points for your NBA SuperDraft lineup at this multiplier.

Josh Richardson (1.8x)

With the Mavericks and Grizzlies projected for the slate’s highest total, I would get some exposure to additional Dallas assets by targeting players with high multipliers, and Richardson is the highest-ranked Maverick with a qualifying multiplier.

Five SuperDraft NBA Fades

Here are some players that players do our projections say you should avoid when building your NBA SuperDraft lineup.

Bismack Biyombo (1.85x)

Our projections don’t expect Biyombo to do much against Rudy Gobert and the Jazz, and his sky-high multiplier won’t be enough to compensate for the handful of base fantasy points he should score.

Tyus Jones (1.75x)

Jones has failed to play 20 minutes over his last two games. He is averaging 4.5 points per game over his last six appearances. This multiplier just isn’t high enough to compensate for that.

Justise Winslow (1.55x)

Winslow played just 21 minutes in his return to action on Saturday, and I would give him a few games to get up to speed before using him in DFS. The fact that his multiplier is set this low makes avoiding him even easier to justify.

Hamidou Diallo (1.45x)

Diallo is the lowest-ranked player with a multiplier above 1.5x. He may have an expanded role with Horford unlikely to play tonight, but his multiplier has been set too high for you to consider him on this slate.

Joe Ingles (1.7x)

Now that Mike Conley has returned, it doesn’t make sense to target a player like Ingles. His multiplier hasn’t fully adjusted for Conley’s return either, so you can safely leave him out of your lineup.
