Thursday brings more split-slate action, though there are only six matchups taking place today. That means the MLB DFS action will be a little thinner with the available player pool on DraftKings, FanDuel and Yahoo. Before you build lineups, several Stokastic tools can help identify daily MLB DFS Top Stacks, key pitchers and MLB DFS picks. Let’s dig into the player projections and popularity for DraftKings, FanDuel and Yahoo lineups, including starting pitchers Drew Rasmussen, Yu Darvish and more.
MLB DFS Picks: Spotlight Pitchers and Top Stacks
Main Slate Primary Pitching Targets Both For and Against – First Pitch: 7:05 p.m. ET
- Drew Rasmussen at New York Yankees — 4.3 implied runs: Now that Aaron Judge is back, the Yankees are a little more daunting, though Rasmussen is a frontline starter who is clearly the best option among the six at our disposal.
- Nathan Eovaldi at Oakland Athletics — 3.3 implied runs: Eovaldi projects as the most popular pitcher of the day, which is no surprise considering he gets to face the A’s in pitching-friendly Oakland tonight with game-time temperatures in the upper-50s.
- Alex Cobb at Arizona Diamondbacks — 4.3 implied runs: Ground ball pitcher against an improving lineup. Though the strikeouts come and go, Cobb does a good job of limiting crooked numbers.
- Domingo German vs. Tampa Bay Rays — 4.3 implied runs: German is an above-average pitcher, though we should not be taking the Tampa Bay offense lightly, as causal gamers still have not caught on that they currently lead the league with 231 runs.
- Tommy Henry vs. San Francisco Giants — 5.2 implied runs: While Henry has home run issues, in three starts this season, he has allowed only one. Of course, he will be going against a righty-heavy lineup, and that could spell trouble, with the Chase Field roof scheduled to be open tonight. Wilmer Flores, Mitch Haniger, Thairo Estrada and J.D. Davis are the core four to target.
- Luis Medina vs. Texas Rangers — 5.3 implied runs: Currently an official starter has not been announced for Oakland, but it does sound like Medina may get the spot start. If this is the case, he is unlikely to last long, as he has just 13.1 innings in Triple-A across five appearances and he was knocked around for eight runs in five innings in his lone outing in The Show this season. Even without Corey Seager, Texas has been firing on all cylinders. Marcus Semien, Nathaniel Lowe, Adolis Garcia, Josh Jung and switch-hitting catcher Jonah Heim are all in play.
Update: Zach Neal has been called up to make the start for Oakland Thursday.

Early Slate Primary Pitching Targets Both For and Against – First Pitch: 12:35 p.m. ET
- Yu Darvish at Minnesota Twins — 3.9 implied runs: Though this is his age-37 season, Darvish is still a force on the mound. This afternoon he will be battling a projected Twins lineup that has a collective 24.5% strikeout rate against right-handed pitching over the last season and change.
- Kodai Senga at Cincinnati Reds — 4.3 implied runs: While this is his rookie season, Senga had been pitching in the NPL with the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks since 2012. He had hiccups in two Bay Area starts against the Giants and Athletics, allowing four runs in each game, but he has ceded only four runs in his other four outings. Consider him a mid-rotation starter, and he could certainly find success against this iteration of the Reds.
- Bailey Ober vs. San Diego Padres — 4.1 implied runs: Now we are at the breakpoint of the rankings — Ober is a solid SP2 today, though we have to frame our expectations, as he is going against a juggernaut of an offense in the Padres. For those wondering, yes, we can roll with Ober as our SP2 on DraftKings and Yahoo yet still target one or two of Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado, Juan Soto and Xander Bogaerts, as Ober is unlikely to have a no-hitter and the top-tier San Diego bats will also be getting a couple of plate appearances against the bullpen.
- Mikel Clevinger at Kansas City Royals — 4.6 implied runs: It has been a rollercoaster ride this season with Clevinger, who is coming off solid starts against Cincinnati and Tampa Bay after producing negative fantasy points against Toronto and Philadelphia. Look to Royals with power upside such as Bobby Witt Jr., Vinnie Pasquantino and Nick Pratto.
- Brady Singer vs. Chicago White Sox — 4.6 implied runs: It has been a horrible season for Singer, who was expected to make a step forward this season. Only once in his last six starts has he produced more than 7 fantasy points. On the season he has an 8.82 ERA and 1.60 WHIP. Until he demonstrates he has figured things out or lands on the injured list — attack, Attack, ATTACK!!!!
- Derek Law and Ben Lively vs. New York Mets: Law is a reliever who likely will be in long enough to face a couple of batters in the second inning before giving way to Lively. Lively was pitching for Triple-A Louisville both this season and last, with a three-year stint in the KBO after he washed out of The Show in 2019. The 31-year-old is very hittable and can be targeted with anyone in a Mets uniform.
Final Thoughts for Thursday, May 11 | MLB DFS Picks
Much like Wednesday, the Midwest has some rain that is likely to impact the games in Kansas City and Minnesota. Of course, the arrival time and potential coverage area will shape our decisions.
