OwnersBox NFL DFS Picks: Bears-Commanders DFS Values for Thursday Night Football

Players like Justin Fields, D.J. Moore and Terry McLaurin are clear standouts in the Chicago Bears versus the Washington Commanders on Thursday Night Football, but the most important aspect of the OwnersBox NFL DFS single game format is being unique. Rosters have five spots including a SuperFlex that has no salary multiplier, so finding low owned values is key. Let’s take a look at the best DFS value picks at $4,500 or below for Bears-Commanders NFL DFS on Thursday.

Top NFL DFS Value Plays

Antonio Gibson – $4,100

There is no doubt that the Washington Commanders have found their workhorse running back in Brian Robinson Jr. The second-year pro out of Alabama was solid int he second half of 2022 after returning from a gunshot wound. Robinson shared the backfield duties with Antonio Gibson upon his return, but Gibson has now been eclipsed on the depth chart. However, that doesn’t mean Gibson is completely out of the Commanders picture. He is still working into the rotation enough to pay off his $4,100 salary. The Commanders have kept Gibson around on special teams as well, making the veteran their regular kick returner. The twist is that OwnersBox DFS gives players a small boost for return yards, which boost Gibson’s floor a bit.

Gibson projects for 8.01 fantasy points making him a top ten point-per-dollar play on this NFL DFS slate. He’s pegged for a modest 20% ownership in Stokastic’s NFL DFS ownership projections, which makes him well worth some fliers.

Darnell Mooney – $4,300

The Chicago Bears have a clear top wideout in D.J. Moore, but Darnell Mooney has performed well as a second option. Mooney developed a good rapport with Justin Fields last season and was expected to be a big part of the team’s offense. He still can be if Fields and company can get things rolling at some point this year. Mooney caught all four of his targets in Week 3 and caught four of seven passes thrown his way in Week 1. He only managed one target in the Bears’ miserable loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2, but when their offense is performing decently he can certainly be a part of things.

Mooney is garnering an average projection of 7.35 fantasy points on OwnersBox NFL DFS for Thursday Night. He is picking up 25.7% ownership, at the moment and offers useful leverage off of high owned Bears pass catchers like Moore and Cole Kmet.

Curtis Samuel – $4,400

Curtis Samuel continues to get touches in Washington despite the presence of Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson.  Samuel had eight targets and a carry last week in the Commanders’ overtime loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He caught seven of those eight passes and hit paydirt for a 1-yard touchdown on his carry. Samuel has always been used in a “jack of all trades” type roll, including this year. He’s had at least one designed running play called for him in three of the team’s four games.

Samuel projects for 10.42 fantasy points, making him the 4th best NFL DFS value play on the slate. He’s getting plenty of looks from the field, so you will have to be mindful of ownership and roster construction when you use Samuel in lineups. Stokastic’s custom OwnersBox DFS projections have him tabbed for 35.7% ownership on Thursday.

Logan Thomas – $4,200

Logan Thomas returned from an injury last week to regain his spot as Washington’s starting tight end. He missed the team’s previous game against the Buffalo Bills, but took the majority of snaps in Week 4 against Philadelphia. Thomas is nothing to write home about, but the price is right for a full time player with plenty of experience in this offense. His $4,200 salary makes him easy to roster, as well. Thomas projects for 8.93 fantasy points, putting him just in the top ten point-per-dollar plays on this slate. He’s pulling 24.3% ownership which makes Thomas an easy pivot off of Samuel and the other pass catchers in his price range.
