MUST-BET Bulls vs. Heat NBA Player Props & Betting Picks Today | 2/28/22

There is a lot more on the line tonight for the Chicago Bulls than starting a new DeMar DeRozan point streak. The top two teams in the East will face off in Miami tonight, as the Bulls trail the Heat by just one game. Miami has a stellar 20-7 record at home this year, and they will send out Jimmy Butler to counter DeRozan. Nikola Vucevic is probable to play through an ankle injury, and Chicago is still down both Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso. The road has not been kind to the Bulls, as they are just 15-13 this season away from Chicago, but they have won four of five and seven of their last 10 games.

Butler will have plenty of help as the Heat look for their fourth straight victory. Kyle Lowry and possibly Caleb Martin are out tonight, but the Heat are otherwise healthy. Miami has been on a tear winning eight of its last 10 games and is giving up the fifth-fewest points each night (104.8). The Heat are coming off a high-scoring game against the Spurs, with Bam Adebayo hitting a season-high 36 points.

Under 224.5 : -110 (DraftKings)

The Heat are going to win this game; they are more talented and better at home than the Bulls are on the road. The question boils down to how they do it while avoiding the recency bias of the Spurs game. The Heat are at their best when they put the clamps down, and the Bulls are coming off a home loss to Memphis. Chicago seems to struggle against better teams and falls victim to that trap way more on the road. This is a perfect chance for the Heat to show why they belong in any futures conversations. While Zach LaVine is back in the fold for the Bulls, they are still missing two key pieces that will prove to be an issue. Chicago does not score enough points to overcome how good Miami is on defense, and the Bulls are not bad enough (like the Spurs) to allow a floodgate to open.

Make sure you are hitting OddsShopper for the latest movement in any line, total, or player prop. Any bet on Miami to win this game, not even covering the 4-point line, is a play on the under.

Jimmy Butler Under 7.5 Rebounds: +105 (DraftKings)

OddsShopper has this as one of the strongest plays across this game, as it finds a great middle with xROI and xWin percentage. Awesemo’s projection has Butler finishing with 6.3 rebounds, a full board below the total at the book. OddsShopper has a 44% xROI and a 70% chance of this hitting. The strong return is correlated with the plus money at DraftKings, making this a strong +EV bet by fading Butler’s rebounds. This number seems a little off at the book, as Butler is only averaging 6.3 rebounds in February and has five total rebounds over his last two games.

DeMar DeRozan Under 30.5 Points: -112 (BetRivers)

The streak is over, and here comes the letdown. Awesemo has DeRozan finishing a full 5 points below his total at the books, which makes this an intriguing but rock-solid play. While DeRozan is only projected for 25.5 points, the metrics on OddsShopper also support a slower night in South Beach. OddsShopper has a 37% xROI on this play and a 69% chance of this prop staying under. Clearly he has gone over this number with his now-ended points streak becoming so visible, but there is a reasonable expectation DeRozan will regress tonight. This also falls in line with the under play in the game, as Chicago will struggle to hit the century mark.

Duncan Robinson 4+ 3’s: +250 (FanDuel)

Miami is going to score against Chicago, as this will not be two heavyweights mugging each other all night. Duncan Robinson has prospered in the Heat’s two games against the Bulls so far, averaging 21 points in them. He stands to get some more looks and take advantage of a weaker second unit on Chicago. Robinson will also get be active earlier, as the Heat will look to attack the Bulls’ perimeter defense. In those two games against Chicago, Robinson had 11 and nine attempts from 3. That is enough volume for a shooter like Robinson to knock down four makes, especially with the likelihood of double-digit looks from deep.
