FREE Heat vs. Bucks NBA Player Props & Betting Picks Today | 3/2/22

The Bucks are running out of time to fine-tune any recent issues before the playoff stretch. The Bulls are above them and the Cavaliers are hot on Milwaukee’s tail. This is all during a recent stretch where the Bucks have dropped three of their last five, including losses to Brooklyn and Portland. Giannis Antetokounmpo comes off another monster game, aided by Bobby Portis and Khris Middleton as the Bucks snapped a two-game skid. Jrue Holiday scored 21 off five made 3’s as the Bucks are relatively healthy minus Brook Lopez and Pat Connaughton.

The Heat are red hot, winning nine of eleven games in the month of February. A win tonight in Milwaukee would extend the Heat’s winning streak to five games, as Jimmy Butler continues to lead one of the stingiest defenses in the NBA. Kyle Lowry will miss his second straight game due to personal reasons, but the Heat are otherwise healthy with no new injuries. The Heat are coming off a convincing victory Monday night over the Bulls, where both Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo destroyed Chicago. Miami makes it difficult for any team to score, as they have the 5th best overall defense in the league.

Under 225: -110 (DraftKings)

The Bucks are simply not at their best and while they have enough talent to win this game, they will not do it in a shootout. This matchup of Eastern powers is all about survival, playing to strengths and getting out with a win. Neither team is looking for style points as the Heat will dictate the tempo. That is where the under comes into play as Milwaukee will struggle to get consistent looks from anywhere. Giannis will be the unstoppable force that he is to an extent, and the Bucks will find living on the perimeter a little harder against the Heat. If Milwaukee was flying on all cylinders, then a home game against a good defense might not weigh as big a factor. But the Bucks are in a small stretch of decent-to-bad basketball and Miami is an opportunistic team on defense.

There is nothing new here with the Heat, which is the point in playing the under. Miami is deep and aggressive, and they can muscle a team as easily as they can explode from 3. OddsShopper found a full point higher than most books at 225 and no additional juice on the play.

Grayson Allen Over 8.5 Points: -112 (BetRivers)

Grayson Allen has settled in with a nice shooter role, especially with the absence of Connaughton. He made the prop list last Bucks game and returns with another soft number at the books, as his 3-point threat makes him a strong play here. Awesemo’s free projection has Allen finishing with 10.2 points, nearly a full basket above the total. OddsShopper has a 62% xWin chance of this prop hitting, combined with a 17% xROI on the bet. He comes off an 11-point game where he shot 3-6 from the field. That alone is good enough to go over the number again tonight.

Jimmy Butler Over 1.5 Steals: -125 (DraftKings)

The higher number of -125 will factor into a lower xROI of 8% on this prop, but the data and game flow back this bet. Awesemo has Butler finishing with 1.9 steals, and OddsShopper still has this volatile prop with a 58% xWin chance of hitting. This play correlates with the under in the game, as Butler should be all over the floor making things difficult for the Bucks. He has had at least two steals in each of his last three games since the break and he even had two steals in the All-Star Game.

Tyler Herro 4+ Made 3’s: +260 (FanDuel)

The Bucks are vulnerable from 3. They live and die by it even with Giannis on the floor. Milwaukee has seen a recent uptick in 3-pointers attempted over their last three games, but also a larger lag in defending the 3. Herro should get an immediate bump in attempts due to Milwaukee’s recent inefficiency versus the long ball. Herro took nine 3’s in two games against bad defenses before being limited by the Bulls. Tonight should look more like a 4-10.5 type night for the Heat guard. Herro is a fantastic option just to go over his normal 3-point prop. This risk takes advantage of current circumstances like Lowry being out and Milwaukee’s perimeter defense.
