MUST-BET Warriors vs. Timberwolves NBA Player Props & Betting Picks Today | 3/1/22

The Warriors slump into the first of a four-game road trip starting tonight in Minnesota. Golden State blew a 21-point lead against Dallas and lost for the third time in four games. Klay Thompson will remain out with an illness so Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins will see more time on the floor with Jordan Poole. Curry has been inconsistent throughout the season but the Warriors have only felt that in their recent stretch of losses. One of the lone bright spots that came in the Warriors’ loss was Gary Payton Jr. playing well in recent games since returning from injury. With all their struggles and still without Draymond Green, Golden State still boasts the third-best scoring defense in the NBA.

That is not particularly great for a Wolves team that is coming off a shootout victory Tuesday night over Cleveland. It is the second leg of the back-to-back for the Wolves, who have the sixth-highest scoring average in the NBA. Karl-Anthony Towns is finally getting help from multiple sources, be it Anthony Edwards, D’Angelo Russell or Malik Beasley off the bench. The Wolves saw Russell lead the way last night against the Cavs, with a strong 17-point contribution from Jaden McDaniels.

Timberwolves First Half Moneyline: -104 (SugarHouse)

Minnesota is dialed in right now, winning nine of their last 13 games and shooting a ton of outside shots. Even Towns is launching fresh off his victory at the 3-Point Contest. The Warriors are still a little disheveled and are without Thompson once again. They are still one of the best teams in the NBA but have a difficult stretch on the road with games against Minnesota tonight, then Dallas and Denver. A veteran team like the Warriors should come out with less urgency in the first half, with plenty of talent to make a comeback and win the game. OddsShopper found a great return on the first half with minimal juice on the bet, taking advantage of a young Wolves team that should come out of the gate firing on multiple levels.

Towns has a good matchup with Kevon Looney but it is all the Warriors can do to slow down the Timberwolves center. Towns should be a big catalyst in the first half to lead Minnesota to a solid lead. Let the full-game bettors sweat out Curry in the fourth. This ticket will cash mid-way through the game.

Karl-Anthony Towns Over 1.5 3-Pointers: -140 (DraftKings)

OddsShopper loves Towns going over this prop and plays off the increase in 3-point looks for the big man. Awesemo’s free projection has Towns knocking down 2.2 3’s tonight against the Warriors, as he has plenty of recent volume to hit two on a decent night shooting the ball. OddsShopper has a 66% xWin chance of Towns going over the prop, with a 12% xROI on the bet. While the juice seems high on a single prop, this is a perfect opportunity to back the data and turn two units into a winning unit of profit. The Warriors may do a decent job of keeping Towns off the glass but will struggle to limit him from the outside.

Stephen Curry Over 7.5 Assists: -120 (DraftKings)

Curry may not have his fellow splash brother on the floor but there are still plenty of scoring options around him. The Warriors have seen double-digit assists from Curry in two straight games and there is a strong chance he can hit that here again, especially with a need to get Wiggins and Poole more involved. All it would take to lock this prop in early would be another inconsistent shooting night from Curry. OddsShopper has a 63% xWin chance of this prop hitting and a 16% xROI on the play. Awesemo’s free projection has Curry dealing 8.6 assists tonight.

FanDuel has Curry 10+ Assists at +230, which is worth a strong look on a half-unit play. Curry will be all over the floor and the Warriors will not be blown out in this game, nor will they destroy Minnesota. A closer game keeps Curry as more of a facilitator.

Patrick Beverley Over 1.5 Made 3’s: -104 (FanDuel)

No need to go crazy with any large number for Patrick Beverley, as the books are still a little soft with his return. The Wolves guard has seen plenty of 3-point volume, including a 6-attempt game just last night against Cleveland. Beverley is averaging just over 2 makes a game on a little over 5 attempts each night, which plenty of volume to get to 2 makes tonight. He continues to be one of the better-kept secrets, as the return for this prop should be north of -110. Instead, it is closer to even money. The Wolves are averaging 41 attempts from 3 over their last three games, while the Warriors are averaging 38 during that stretch. Both teams have plenty of shot opportunities from 3 and Beverley is an easy name to get lost in the mix, but an even easier prop to hit from deep.
