After playing shorthanded last game, the Pelicans expect to welcome some players back to the rotation. Zion Williamson appears good to go after his COVID-19 test being ruled a false positive. Eric Bledsoe is questionable with an eye injury after missing last game. Lonzo Ball has already been ruled out for this game due to knee issue. If Bledsoe plays, he will likely handle the majority of the ball-handling duties. However, with both Ball and Bledsoe out last game, Nickeil Alexander-Walker started at point guard and stepped up in a big way. He finished the game with a whopping 37 points and eight rebounds while turning the ball over just once. He has proven to be capable of filling in as a starter if Bledsoe does miss again.
It’s the Lakers’ third game in four days, and both LeBron James and Anthony Davis are listed as questionable to play after both players were active in the back-to-back. The Lakers have won four games in a row, winning by average margin of 16.5 points. However, two of these games were against the Rockets, with the other two being against the Bulls and Thunder. In other words, the level of competition wasn’t too high, and although the Pelicans are not fully healthy, they will be a tougher opponent than they have faced recently. While Kyle Kuzma has continue to struggle to find any kind of consistency in the NBA, newcomers Dennis Schroder and Montrezl Harrell have both fit in and played well for the Lakers to this point. They will play a big part in the Lakers’ success all season long.
