Quick NHL Best Bets: Ducks vs. Kings Over & Zach Werenski Player Props for 11/30/21

There are eight games across the NHL tonight, with an interesting mix of some big home favorites in Minnesota and Boston only one favorite above -140. With those two standout spots for NHL betting, there is plenty of value in less obvious matchups. The schedule is back on track, so let’s find some winners for Tuesday, Nov. 30.

Best NHL Bets Today: Player Prop Odds & Betting Picks

Ducks vs. Kings Over 5.5 (+100, SugarHouse)

The juice going to the under (-118) in Los Angeles is strange, as these two teams rely on their offense and speed to win them games. Both average over 2.4 expected goals against per 60 at five-on-five, which puts them near the bottom of the schedule already. Couple that with their very porous penalty-killing units that also come in the bottom half of the league, and that is a recipe for goals. The Ducks have the fourth-best expected power play on the slate (27.7% overall) while the Kings are the seventh-worst penalty killers in the NHL at just 77.6%. On the flip side of that, the Los Angeles Kings are due for some positive regression, carrying a shot percentage under 7% while still creating the league’s seventh-most high-danger chances, with over 12 per game.

This will likely come down to how well the goaltenders play, as both teams will create quality chances at even strength and on the advantage. The Ducks’ young talent always makes them a fun team to watch, and when the opposing team is just as reliant on scoring, all signs point to a shootout.

Zach Werenski to Score a Point vs. Predators (-118, SugarHouse)

There will be plenty of opportunities for Werenski facing the Predators in Nashville. This season Zach Werenski is on the ice for nearly half of every game, and he will be quarterbacking the top power play against one of the league’s most penalized teams. Nashville is tied for second in penalties taken (89), with an average of nearly 11 minutes per game at the disadvantage. For his career, Werenski has always been stronger on the advantage and has kicked it up a notch this year, with three goals on the power play. That is good enough for second in the NHL.

Like the game above, this could be an up-and-down battle, as no team on the slate allows more chances than the Blue Jackets. The ice time and likelihood of going to the power play immediately thrust Werenski into the scoring column, especially at this price.
