NFL Prop Bet No. 1: Jalen Hurts OVER 202.5 Yards Passing

Today’s Sunday Night Football finale pits the Eagles against the Washington Football Team to decide the fate of the NFC East. If Washington wins, they win the division and play host to a first-round playoff game. With a loss, the afternoon’s Giants – Cowboys winner takes their place.
While that is exciting and all, the Eagles side in is what really intrigues me here, more specifically the over on 202.5 yards passing for Jalen Hurts. All signs point towards the emerging quarterback starting and playing the entire game, which makes me interested in hammering the over on a number of his props. While others might argue this is a “meaningless” game and the Eagles might be inclined to pull him for safety, I feel confident Doug Pederson wants to give Hurts reps and confidence leading into next season. And although Hurts has looked brilliant through three starts, it’s only been three starts; certainly they’ll want to see more from their second-round steal with all of the question marks hanging over the Philadelphia franchise due to the Carson Wentz contract.
The other major factor here to make me love the over here is the absence of Miles Sanders. The second-year Penn State product has been the only reliable productive member of the Eagles backfield this season. And while Washington’s stingy defense ranks 2nd in the NFL against the pass, there’s really no other option for them without a semblance of a running game to rely on. And did I mention Hurts is coming off back-to-back 300-yard performances? All these facts considered, this feels less like rolling the dice on the over here and more like stacking the deck. Two units on the arm of Hurts tonight.
NFL Prop Bet No. 2: Greg Ward OVER 2.5 Receptions

As much as I love backing Hurts tonight, I might love backing Greg Ward‘s over on 2.5 receptions more. Not only are you getting an advantageous line where Alex Baker projects Ward for more than double the catches (5.09), but you’re getting plus money to do it. The undrafted Ward will also be playing for a contract tonight, so I expect a small spike in opportunity due to that plus Dallas Goedert‘s absence. Ward has shown flashes of promise, and I expect him to do that in primetime tonight. As many units as you can stomach on the over here for the young Eagles wide receiver.
