Celtics vs. Jazz Game Info
Boston Celtics (12-10, 7-7 Away) vs. Utah Jazz (19-5, 9-2 Home)
Date: Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021
Time: 10 p.m. EST
Venue: Vivint Smart Home Arena — Salt Lake City, Utah
Coverage: TNT
The Celtics have battle injuries all season long. Recently Marcus Smart suffered what looked to be a scary leg injury. He avoided anything serious, but he is still expected to be out at least another week. Jaylen Brown has also been out the past couple games with a knee injury, and he is currently listed as questionable to play tonight. He is enjoying a career year, averaging 26.4 points and 3.6 assists per game. His return to the lineup would be a welcomed one. However, if he were to miss again tonight, Boston may look to start both Carsen Edwards and Grant Williams again in Smart’s and Brown’s places, respectively. Still, that would mean we expect consistency, and the Celtics have been anything but consistent this season. In fact, they have lost seven of their last 11 games, stringing two wins together just once over that stretch.

On the opposite side of things, the Jazz find themselves atop the Western Conference standings. They rank top five in both offensive and defensive efficiency, and they are the only team that can say this. Utah has seemingly always been known as a solid defensive team, but the shots are dropping for them so far this season. Tonight they will be without point guard Mike Conley again, missing his second straight game with a hamstring injury. It was Joe Ingles that entered the starting lineup last game, with Donovan Mitchell sliding over to be the main ball handler. Jordan Clarkson played 30 minutes off the bench as the other main guard to benefit from Conley’s absence.
