The Winning Element: PGA DFS Optimizer Picks & Projections for 2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am DraftKings & FanDuel Lineups

All of the PGA DFS content and picks this week are geared toward providing information that will help with DraftKings and FanDuel daily fantasy golf, PGA odds and betting decisions in the best way possible. With the help of the Awesemo expert , this is the last of the week-long written PGA fantasy picks material for DraftKings and FanDuel at the 2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

PGA DFS Picks & Projections: AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

This column will include 6 to 12 players as part of the core, which earns my highest allocation on DFS and is matched with bets across the board. Two-thirds of my favorite trio of Jordan Spieth, Collin Morikawa and Patrick Cantlay are teeing it up around the world this week, with Spieth and Cantlay headlining the field at Pebble Beach. Both Spieth and Cantlay have found great success at this event, but Spieth’s health is certainly in question after needing a visit to the hospital last Wednesday due to a bacterial infection. That never sounds like a good thing, but the night before Round 2 of a tournament is a whole other story. He competed in the event, but he did not look all the way there. That said, to at least tee it up after going to the hospital the night before shows his issue can’t be all that serious. All one can hope for is that his health questions and poor form keep his ownership very low and he bounces back to form this week. Cantlay will likely be the highest-owned golfer on the slate, and rightfully so.

PGA Weather Forecast

For the most part, the wind and rain will stay away this week. But temperatures will not get above 60 degrees, and morning temperatures will be in the 40s.

PGA DFS Slate Preview

Total expected player pool: 82

Expected number of lineups created: 450

Note: I am writing this with COVID-19, and while that has put a damper on the week, I will rely heavily on the PGA DFS projections and Fantasy Cruncher to help with allocations and lineups this week.

2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Fantasy Golf Picks

These golfers will have anywhere between 20% and 50% allocation.

Mito Pereira ($8,300 DraftKings/$10,700 FanDuel)

It may seem like a bit of a drop-off to start the core selections with Pereira, but with Cantlay and Spieth getting most of the shares, there is not a ton of room to go overweight other golfers above $8,000 this week. Pereira, however, has been trending ever since he joined the Tour, and even though he had not played all season, he still came out firing last week, gaining almost four strokes with his irons. He was not great off the tee or around the green, but both of those issues should resolve themselves on the easier tracks at Pebble Beach this week.

Aaron Rai ($7,900 DraftKings/$9,500 FanDuel)

Rai seems to be finding his footing in professional golf. He has been known to go on runs of form, as seen by the three finishes of third or better in a span of four weeks on the European Tour last year. With strong ball-striking skills on full display last week, Rai heads to a course setup that should inevitably be better for his game this week. He also boasts the best value of anyone priced under $8,000 this week on DraftKings, with a projected point total of 65.8.

Matthew NeSmith ($7,300 DraftKings/$8,800 FanDuel)

Rather good with his irons, NeSmith had it going for a bit last week, but a poor second round with them cost him his best finish of this young year. He rebounded over the weekend, gaining just over a stroke with them. While it may be a bit early, one certainly does not need to go to 20% to get leverage on him, with projected ownership of just 5.4%.

Sahith Theegala ($7,200 DraftKings/$8,600 FanDuel)

At the American Express a couple weeks ago, Theegala had another round to give his backers a tease of what his talent level really is. A Friday 62 moved him into position again on the PGA Tour, something he has now done four times in his blossoming career. Like the other few times, he failed to get it going on the weekend but still managed a 33rd, and last week he had a similar run and tied for 25th. The setup here this week should be familiar once again, as he grew up and went to college in California.

Fantasy Golf Picks: $7,000 or less

While none of these golfers are strong enough to earn 20% allocation, they are the four highest-owned golfers in my player pool under $7,000 this week.

Greyson Sigg ($7,000 DraftKings/$7,900 FanDuel)

After seeing his name pop-up on the Twitter timeline earlier in the week, Sigg was a bit of an afterthought for the player pool. But after some digging, it seems as though Twitter may have a point, as Sigg relies on driving accuracy a strong iron game and a good short game to earn his keep. That is a perfect setup for Pebble Beach, a place where he won in college. He has also made three straight cuts heading into the week, which should give him plenty of confidence to earn his best finish on the PGA Tour, which would be anything better than a tie for 22nd.

Wyndham Clark ($7,000 DraftKings/$7,600 FanDuel)

Speaking of golfers that have played solidly this season, Clark has made six straight cuts now, with a tie for 13th being his best finish — down the road in Palm Springs a few weeks ago. He came in 18th here in his last trip a few years ago, when it was still the Pro-Am format, giving a bit of credence to him playing well under this setup. At these salaries and projected ownership under 10%, Clark sets up nicely for a stars-and-scrubs build this week.

Austin Eckroat ($6,800 DraftKings/$7,600 FanDuel)

After touting him as an against-the-grain play last week, Eckroat failed to maintain momentum from birdieing four of his first eight holes. He wound up missing the cut at an arduous setup in Torrey Pines. But he has shown flashes of greatness as he looks to find some footing in the professional game. His best finish came at last year’s Mayakoba Golf Classic, where he finished in a tie for 13th on a course that required accuracy off the tee and good iron play. On a similar setup this week with tighter fairways, Eckroat should put his talent on full display this week and earn a solid paycheck in the process.
