College Football Week 5 Night Slate DFS Picks: Bijan Robinson, Israel Abanikanda Highlight Running Back Options

A nine-game night slate ends the DFS college football night on DraftKings, and plenty of big names are available, including Stetson Bennett and Bijan Robinson.

Auburn hosts LSU in a SEC battle of Tigers, West Virginia heads to Texas to take on the Longhorns, Cincinnati heads to Tulsa in a battle for AAC supremacy and undefeated North Carolina State makes the trip to Clemson for a primetime matchup with the also undefeated Tigers. We aren’t done with Tigers yet as Missouri plays host to top-ranked Georgia, with four other games across the country that should make this a fun slate.

With nine games in play and a few teams still playing against inferior competition, there are plenty of strong CBB DFS picks at all positions and some potentially lopsided scores across the board. This article will provide NCAAF DFS picks and lineup advice for the DraftKings slate on October 1 that locks at 7 p.m. ET.

College Football DFS: Week 5 Saturday Night CFB Picks

Quarterback

Stetson Bennett, Georgia ($8,300) — If you want to play Caleb Williams in a bounce-back spot against Arizona State, you’ll unfortunately have to do so on the ‘Late Night’ slate as DraftKings decided to keep that game off the main ‘Night’ slate. With Williams not in play, Bennett is easily the top signal caller tonight, and he’s projected as the second-highest quarterback of the entire day behind only (you guessed it) Williams. Averaging 25.6 DraftKings points per game, Bennett hasn’t dropped below 17 in any contest and at $8.3K he offers one of the better floor/ceiling combinations on the entire slate. Plug in with confidence in all formats.

Other Quarterbacks: Hudson Card, Texas ($7,700); Jayden Daniels, LSU ($7,500); Casey Thompson, Nebraska ($7,000); DJ Uiagalelei, Clemson ($6,600); Riley Leonard, Duke ($6,000); Connor Bazelak, Nebraska ($5,900); Robby Ashford, Auburn ($5,200); Jordan Moore, Duke ($4,900)

Running Backs

Bijan Robinson, Texas ($8,600) — Projected as the second-highest scoring running back of the day behind only Deuce Vaughn, Robinson looks like a lock in all formats at $8.6K. One of the most exciting players in college football, Robinson is averaging 29.5 DraftKings points per game and his ceiling is as high or higher than anyone else in the country. With Texas a 7.5 point home favorite against West Virginia, expect a heavy dose of Robinson as the Longhorns look to bounce back from an upset loss at Texas Tech. Fade at your own risk in all formats.

Israel Abanikanda, Pittsburgh ($7,500) — Big price increase up to $7.5K, but it’s well deserved as Abanikanda has been one of the best running backs in the country since a subpar performance in Week 1 against West Virginia. Averaging 27.2 DraftKings points per game, Abanikanda has at least 22 in three straight games and he’s coming off a monster 47.6-point performance last week against Rhode Island. 19 carries for 177 yards and four touchdowns against the Rams, Abanikanda has become the focal point of the Panthers offense and we can’t lock him in fast enough. Spending up on Bennett, Robinson, and Abanikanda is tough, but with a couple cheaper wide receivers projected extremely well, it’s definitely doable.

Other Running Backs: Will Shipley, Clemson ($6,700); Shaun Shivers, Indiana ($6,500); Charles McClelland, Cincinnati ($6,200); Anthony Grant, Nebraska ($6,100); Titus Swen, Wyoming ($5,900); Kairee Robinson, San Jose State ($4,500); Noah Cain, LSU ($3,800)

Wide Receivers

Cam Camper, Indiana ($6,200) — Projected as the fourth-highest scoring wide receiver of the entire day, Camper is simply too cheap at $6,200. Averaging 21.5 DraftKings points per game, Camper has at least 23 points in back to back games and at this price point he looks like a cog in our machine in all formats. Facing a porous Nebraska defense we definitely want exposure to Indiana tonight, and Camper is the clear top piece of the Hoosiers

Trey Palmer, Nebraska ($5,500) — Going right to the other side of this game with the Cornhuskers top target, Palmer is also way too cheap at $5,500. Projected just slightly behind Camper, Palmer has been a target monster for Nebraska and coming off an impressive performance against Oklahoma in Week 3, there’s a lot to like about him on Saturday night against Indiana. Ten catches for 92 yards and a touchdown against the Sooners, the LSU transfer looks good in all formats at an affordable $5.5K price tag.

Other Wide Receivers: Keylon Stokes, Tulsa ($7,700); Bryce Ford-Wheaton, West Virginia ($7,300); Tyler Scott, Cincinnati ($7,100); Konata Mumpfield, Pittsburgh ($6,600); Tre Tucker, Cincinnati ($5,900); CJ Donaldson, West Virginia ($5,000); Elijah Cooks, San Jose State ($4,900); Ja’Tavion Sanders, Texas ($3,400); Kayshon Boutte, LSU ($3,200)
