Monkey Knife Fight MLB DFS Picks for Friday, Aug. 6 | Bryce Harper & Matt Olson

Friday’s loaded 15-game slate has one game in the afternoon and the rest being played under the lights. The main slate will be headlined by the huge National League East matchup between the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Mets. Let’s dive into the top Monkey Knife Fight MLB DFS plays and props tonight on Aug. 6.

Tonight’s Top Monkey Knife Fight MLB DFS Picks

Monkey Knife Fight has a ton of profitable contests for the public, and here we will break down the two best areas from which to make MLB picks.

Rapid Fire — Pick 3 | Prize: 5x

Kyle Gibson vs. Marcus Stroman

Stroman has plenty of familiarity with the Phillies, with tonight marking his fifth start against them already this season. He has a 2-2 record and 1.35 ERA in those four previous starts. Stroman’s chances in this matchup may look tempting, but he struck out no more than three batters in three of those games.

Gibson will make his second start for the Phillies, and in his first one he allowed only two runs over 6.2 innings while striking out five. The Mets come in losers of four of the last five games, so they are certainly not the team on fire here.

Pete Alonso vs. Bryce Harper

This is a matchup of two different types of hitters. Harper is completely locked in at the plate, hitting .435 with an absurd .536 on-base percentage over the last six games. Alonso is a homer-or-nothing swinger, so go with the more disciplined hitter in Harper.

Dominic Smith vs. Javier Baez

This is another choice between a locked-in hitter and a free swinger. Smith has a team-high .348 batting average over the last six games, while the rest of his teammates have struggled to find consistency over that stretch. Baez might be a little banged up, but he still has only four hits in six games since joining the Mets.

Home Run Blast — Pick 3 — Prize: 10x

When the MLB leader in home runs allowed is on the road for a Friday night start, it is only right to play the Home Run Blast on Monkey Knife Fight. Mike Foltynewicz has allowed 31 homers this season in 111 innings of work.

The Athletics have plenty of bats that can get to Foltynewicz. Matt Olson and Starling Marte are the two Oakland choices here, and Marte is on fire; he has gone 7-for-13 with a double and home run in his last three games. Olson has been nothing special of late, hitting .250 with a home run in the last six games. However, the matchup with Foltynewicz is advantageous for power hitters on any slate.

For the lone Rangers bat, Andy Ibanez has three home runs in his last five games. His switch-hitting ability can certainly come in handy in the later innings, and the Rangers are guaranteed an at-bat in the ninth inning.
