Leading up until the start of the first game, bid up on players you are interested in acquiring on the open market. Is there a player who you consider a favorite to finish at the top of the rankings? Invest as much or as little as you want in their fantasy performance, with shares beginning at $1 and ranging all the way up to $25. See potential injury news that could open up an opportunity for another player to acquire fantasy points? Make speculative bids for shares of the back-up, hoping for that news to break after the IPO phase is complete.

The next part of the game occurs during live trading. Unlike regular NBA DFS where your plays are locked in, you can buy and sell shares of players while the games are happening based on their production and where you could see them finishing amongst the field. Track as current points, projected points, and live price for each player is updated in real time, allowing you to track the action and invest in an instant to account for news. Trading can be done all the way up until the final buzzer of the night’s final game.

Strategy Session: Injured All-Stars

Thursday only has four NBA games on the schedule, but there are some extremely important injury situations to monitor. First is Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee), who has missed six straight for Milwaukee. After being a full participant in practice Tuesday, it appears that he is nearing a return, but the Bucks have been very cautious with their franchise player, and he has a questionable tag for Thursday night. If Antetokounmpo continues to sit out, Khris Middleton will automatically become one of the most attractive spends of the slate. In these most recent two with Antetokounmpo absent, Middleton has supplied 43.25 Jock points per game, leading the Bucks to back-to-back blowout wins. He has only logged 26.7 minutes per game in this pair of victories, which equates to a terrific 1.62 Jock points per minute for Middleton. At a lower cost, Bobby Portis would also be an intriguing value. During this six-game stretch with Antetokounmpo sidelined, Portis has been very effective as the Bucks’ primary power forward, generating 29.5 Jock points per game.

The next All-Star that every DFS player will be watching closely throughout the day is Trae Young (calf). Young has missed two in a row, and Bogdan Bogdanovic has been outstanding, posting 41.75 Jock points against the Hornets, and then 35 Jock points against the Raptors, both of which were wins for Atlanta. Young being off the court results in a 3.3% usage boost and 3.0% assist rate increase for Bogdanovic, and investing in Bogdanovic early in the IPO is the sharp move. In addition to Young, Danilo Gallinari (foot) is questionable, and at least one of these Hawks starters should be inactive. Young’s absence obviously means more to Bogdanovic, but even if it’s just Gallinari who misses, Bogdanovic still has a great ceiling in this uptempo matchup with the Bucks, who rank fourth in pace this season.

Deandre Ayton

The Kings travel to Phoenix on the second leg of a back-to-back. Sacramento has easily been the worst defense in the Association in 2020-21, ranking dead last in both defensive rating and efficiency. To put some more gas on the fire, no team in the league has yielded more points in the paint than the Kings this season. This is a perfect spot for Ayton, who is averaging 37.1 Jock points per game across his last six.

Shooting 69.1% for the month of April, Ayton is a match made in heaven for Jock MKT’s scoring format that deducts 0.5 fantasy points for missed field goals. Just like he has in his last six starts, Ayton should comfortably beat his Jock projection in this dream matchup.

Draymond Green

Green has taken full advantage of Kelly Oubre (doubtful, wrist) and James Wiseman (out, knee) being sidelined. In these first two with these key Warriors out, Green has been a revelation, erupting for 44.75 Jock points against the Nuggets on Monday and then one upping himself with 54 Jock points last night against the Thunder. Green’s usage increases 1.7% with Wiseman and Oubre off the floor, and this should be a close contest against a Cavaliers team that has won three of their last five.

With the Warriors aggressively pursuing a playoff spot out West, Green should continue to stuff the stat sheet tonight en route to a large Jock MKT score.

Kent Bazemore

Replacing Oubre in the starting five, Bazemore has produced 23.7 Jock points per game in these past three for the Warriors. His minutes were cut short in last night’s 35-point blowout win against the Thunder, but Bazemore eclipsed the 30-minute mark in the previous two. Golden State should find themselves in a far more competitive setting Thursday against the Cavs, giving Bazemore a safe projection for 30 to 35 minutes of work with Oubre expected to miss his four consecutive tilt.

Jock MKT’s scoring system rewards players with an extra 0.5 fantasy points for every made 3-pointer, and Bazemore has knocked down three triples in each of his past two starts. Cleveland is allowing their opponents to hit 3-pointers at the fourth-highest clip this season, and Bazemore has the potential for over 30 Jock points Thursday night.
