NBA DFS Picks: Wednesday, Jan. 11
Core Play of the Day — Giannis Antetokounmpo: Milwaukee Bucks-Atlanta Hawks
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Point Projections: DraftKings: 60.85 | FanDuel: 58.73
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Rostered Projections: DraftKings 24.6% | FanDuel: 20.8%
- DFS Salary: DraftKings: $11,800 | FanDuel: $11,600
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Milwaukee are headed into Atlanta to take on the Hawks. The Bucks have been victorious in three of their last four games and four of their last six after a four-game slide at the end of December. Among players with a median fantasy point projection tonight, Antetokounmpo is behind only Rudy Gobert as the best point-per-dollar play.
We know what we are getting with the two-time NBA MVP, as he is churning out his sixth consecutive season averaging 50 or more fantasy points. Khris Middleton remains out, and the Hawks are missing Clint Capela, which is a downgrade for their rim protection. Milwaukee is favored by a bucket, so this is one of the tighter matchups on the board tonight.
Domantas Sabonis: Sacramento Kings-Houston Rockets
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Point Projections: DraftKings: 51.72 | FanDuel: 48.94
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Rostered Projections: DraftKings 9.3% | FanDuel: 20.1%
- DFS Salary: DraftKings: $10,600 | FanDuel: $9,900
This has been a remarkably efficient season for Domantas Sabonis. He is averaging 18.7 points per game on just 11.3 field goal attempts per appearance. He has a 61.5% conversion rate from the field, including an amazing 63.8% effective field goal rate. Additionally, he leads the league with 12.4 rebounds per game and is dishing out a career-high 6.8 dimes.
Houston is allowing 118.2 points per 100 possessions over their last 10 games, and this game boasts a wild 238.5-point total. The Rockets also among the dregs of the league, with the second-worst true shooting percentage and fifth-lowest effective field goal percentage. There ought to be plenty of rebounds available for Sabonis, who should be making a foray to the 50-fantasy-point plateau.

Grayson Allen is popping in the betting market, with a 1.5 total for his assist prop against the Hawks tonight in Atlanta. The journeyman is averaging a career-best 2.6 assists per game, and with Middleton still out, he should have 25 to 28 minutes secured in the rotation.
The NBA Bet Pro projections have Allen for 2.7 assists and a 67% likelihood of surpassing his line of 1.5. We can utilize this wager as part of a parlay to increase the upside potential of the 5% expected return on investment at -175 on BetMGM.

Chicago Bulls-Washington Wizards
Tonight the Bulls will be taking on the Wizards in our nation’s capital. It is fortunate that this is one of the first games tipping off, as there is a lot of pending injury news and key players from both teams are surrounded by uncertainty.
DeMar DeRozan (thigh) is questionable for Chicago, and if he is out, then Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic will see increased offensive responsibilities, with Coby White and Alex Caruso benefiting with additional minutes. If DeRozan plays, then he and the other members of the big three will become secondary options for tournaments.
Washington will once again be without Bradley Beal, but Kristaps Porzingis (ribs), Daniel Gafford (ankle) and Corey Kispert (back) are all questionable. If this trio plays, Porzingis and Gafford are solid tournament options. If Porzingis is out, Kyle Kuzma will likely become the focal point of the offense.
If Gafford is out, then Rui Hachimura is next in line for frontcourt minutes. Kispert does not really drive much, as most of his minutes would be absorbed by a variety of backcourt players. If the entire trio is out, then Delon Wright, Deni Avdija, Monte Morris and Jordan Goodwin will be elevated as intriguing discount dandies.
